Wearing my flip flops.

video
Meaning MY flip flops.  Ignore the massive playtime mess on the floor... :)

I keep forgetting to mention my sister has had a blog for a few years now.  It's better organized than mine and has WAY more culture too.  Check it out: http://www.karenkaminski.com/

Payback.

I know that I was a handful when I was a kid.  Skyler is too.  I guess it's payback for me being a hellion to my parents.  Here he is after taking an hour with me laying down next to him trying to get him to take a nap.  Also, notice he's packing his soothie with food last night!  Such a naughty!

Yes, those are JD sheets on the spare bed in his room.

"I can fit this in my soothie!"

"let's try it.."

"Place a piece in this hole..."

"Push it in to the bottom..."

"Pack it in!"  "Done!"

The (sometimes) happy little boy!

Skyler is teething again.  This time it's a molar.   He's been real fussy all weekend but yesterday he had his mind occupied with being outside.

The airshow.

Yesterday we went to Hill Air Force Base for the airshow.  The rain cleared up just in time right as we arrived.  It was a great time and Skyler did awesome!  No screaming or crying thanks to his earmuffs.  He was very observant and kept pointing to all the planes.  Happy Memorial Day everyone!  A special thanks to all that served in our military including my Father.
The heritage flight with the P-51D and F-16C.  Old meets new.

Quite possibly the best sounding engine ever produced.  The Rolls Royce Merlin V-12.

Not to be outdone, the GE jet engine in the F-16C is equally as impressive.  We were amazingly close to have him taxi under his own power.  Loud, but a good loud!

Altair with Skyler posing in front of the NASA F-18D research fighter.  Why NASA needs a fighter is beyond me.

The CV-22 Osprey.  Later, the pilot fired it up and folded the propellers/rotors.

Skyler was such a good sport.  He kept his hearing protection on the entire time!

The USAF Thunderbirds.  There were some good clouds as a backdrop to the  red, white, and blue aircraft.

No outing would be completed without a JD somewhere!  Skyler and me posing in front of the loader.

A Predator drone.  I worked on the V tail of these back when I was working in the aerospace industry.  The airmen were assembling it from its crate.

Afterwards, we went to my parents house for some delicious surf and turf.  Ribeye steaks and lobster!  My aunt is in town for the week from Nebraska.  She and my mom left for Moab today to do some hiking and when they return on Thursday, we'll have slow smoked barbeque baby back ribs at our house.  Mmmm...

A day out with Thomas.

Despite it being a huge ripoff, we had a good time with our friends Nick & Bethlyn yesterday.  Heber Valley railroad is extremely overrated and waaaay too much money for what you get.  Afterwards, we ate at the Dairy Keen in Heber.  Sooo delicious!  They are famous for their "Train Burger"  which is a 1/2 lb burger topped with ham and Thousand Island dressing.  Now I'm hungry!
Skyler and me getting ready to board.

Thomas is just a "dummy engine"  he's pulled along with a diesel locomotive on the other end of the train.

"This is great!"

Betylyn holding Skyler making Easton jealous.

Skyler and the bubbles!
Dairy Keen.

Thomas even travels around a track inside the Dairy Keen.

Skyler being pulled by Mommy!

Altair was off yesterday.  Her boss told her to take a day off.  Meaning she's been working too much.  How's that for a good boss?  Anyway, we worked in the garden most of the day.  Skyler had a 2 hour nap allowing us to do so.  After he got up, it was tractor time!

"Ready, set, pull!"

Do you see that LAWN!!  WOO HOO!!

After a trip down the sidewalk, Maizey dog had to get in.

Everyone smile!

My new favorite picture.

Time for Altair to drive.

Skyler and me riding.  Look at that face!  So happy!

Altair was nervous I could tell.  She did great!

Altair trying to keep him in.   I was right there, nothing to worry about.

"Hi mommy."

I think Mom was having as much fun as Skyler.

Watching the tractor tires go around.  I think he loves tractor treads just like I do.

Sporting his new JD hat.  He'll actually wear this one.

Looking much older than 13 months.

"I'm done.  Getting out now!"

Last Saturday's get together.

We got together with 2 other couples and their kids at Salt Lake's Liberty park.  It was crowded, but the kids had a fun time.  The adults did too.  It's nice to keep in touch with the other parents from our birth class.
Skyler was surprisingly cautious about the water!

"I found a pine cone!"

"A stick!"

Skyler watching Silas.
