The new development progress.

We walked down to the new subdivision development Saturday evening.  They've made some progress, some of which I don't know what they are thinking.  Skyler had a wonderful time climbing and jumping(!) down the big piles of dirt and gravel.

The developer is moving the existing canal so they can get another lot in.  This "velocity tube" looks problematic.

I don't see how you can neck down a canal and not expect flooding and or clogging.

First anniversary Fat Bike ride.

I can't believe it's been a year already since I started riding Fat Bikes.  Altair, Maizey dog, and I headed up to Red Butte yesterday to ride since it was a lovely Spring day.  It was nice to hit the dirt trails again and I can't believe how strong I am after a year of riding.

I got a new app for Skyler on Thursday.  It's called "Endless numbers" and he loves it!  He already has "Endless alphabet & Endless reader" so this comes naturally.

That is what Skyler says to me multiple times a day. I couldn't agree more!

Stormy weather means...

... Play Doh!!  He's been playing with it for 3 days straight!  First thing in the morning, last thing at night.  I get involved too, it really is entertaining. :)

Skyler wanted me to till the entire garden with the little walk behind yesterday. I asked him why, he said "so I can dig anywhere!"  I ended up using the tractor tiller.  He was super happy to ride, watch, and dig anywhere. :)

This is so true!

Spring!

Happy first day of Spring!

Mommy is home!

Mommy made it back from her business trip in Phoenix last night.  Skyler and I are glad to have her back even though she's at work again today.  Take a look at the resort she was staying and playing er, working at.

Progress?

Skyler and I walked down our street to watch the beginning of the new housing development.  This post from last year shows the before.  This is the after.

So long trees.

They work pretty fast.  This was after only a few hours of clearing.

The excavator makes clearing trees look like us breaking toothpicks.

There was another tiny excavator clearing the smaller trees.

The operator was very experienced.  He even came over to talk to us and say hi to Skyler.

This particular machine is unique.  It's called a "Blade Runner" because it combines a dozer and excavator all in one.

This was the apple tree at the end of the sidewalk or "where the sidewalk ends".  Skyler fed the horses apples off of this tree last fall.

No more apple tree.

By late afternoon, they had every tree knocked down.

There's going to be lots of wood chips!

Remember Sears?

It's now gone!  We passed this last weekend.  Nothing there now.  Sad.

Not shown here, but there's a huge pile of dirt to the east of the former building.  I can only assume that they're going to fill in the basement with the dirt.

Mommy's annual ski trip.

Altair is skiing today with my aunt up at Snowbasin.  The skied yesterday at Brighton.  Here she is sporting her new helmet. :)

I pulled the snow blower off of the un-cabbed JD X585 yesterday with Skyler's help.  By his help I mean mostly riding on my lap and at one point guiding me into the shed by waving his arms just like an airplane being guided while taxiing.  I don't know were he learned it, but it was adorable!  Now I just need to pull all the weights and front hitch off and I'm ready to do some tillage in the garden.  At last, Spring!

I only got to use this tractor twice this winter.  Not enough big storms to justify running the big 47" blower.

Snow day!

Skyler went out first thing yesterday to play in (hopefully) the last snow.  Here he is levitating around the yard. :)

Mommy took Skyler on a bike ride last night while I fixed dinner.  He rode his own bike!

We got a pretty good and long ride in yesterday before it started to rain.  It must have been too long though since Skyler fell asleep in his trailer half way into our ride.  He managed to stay asleep until we got home and I removed him from his trailer.

I stopped and put his window down so he wouldn't get too cold even though it was 60 degrees.

He didn't even wake up when I took his helmet off.

After we came in he wanted to lay down.  That lasted about 10 minutes.
