Fairy garden.

Spotted on our walk in the Avenues yesterday morning before Salt Lake City turned to shit.  Violent protests and looting here last night.

Wow!

Apparently the owner of the house let all of the neighborhood decorate their own miniature "house" to put in the garden.

Can we go back in time now?

We ventured out to Costco and Lowe's yesterday.  It's alarming how many people aren't taking the pandemic seriously.

I just want to go back to Glacier National Park and see Wild Goose Island again.

It still delights.

The street sweeper went by while he was sick last week.  It's always been one of his favorite machines.

Even though he felt terrible, he still got up to see it go by.

S'mores.

I grilled some steaks for our Sunday dinner last weekend.  Lately, whenever I use the charcoal grill, Skyler and Mommy use the remaining coals to toast marshmallows to make s'mores.

Freezer beef ribeye.

Getting ready.

Toasting.  Note the chocolate and graham crackers warming on the hot grill.

Quality control test before eating his s'more.  :)

More from the Narrows.

A few more pictures from Saturday.

Holding up his "honk" sign to the southbound Frontrunner train.  The operator didn't honk.

Waving to a northbound.

Here it comes!

Ex New Jersey Transit Comet car right behind the locomotive.

Great clouds!

Holding up the "honk" sign.  Still no honk from any train.

Southbound.

Still a great looking paint job after all these years.

There it goes!

Memorial Day 2020.

We enjoyed our extra day off yesterday.  We visited the cemetery, Skyler got to go play model railroad at Grandpa's, and I smoked a beef brisket all day for dinner.

Skyler decorated the "vase" (a Fairlife milk container).  Mommy made the arrangement from flowers that Grandma had given us over the years to grow in our yard.

Other side of the "vase".

Grandpa had already been earlier.  He also drew up the design for the headstone last year.  It looks amazing!

Missing you Grandma.  :(

The brisket after 9 hours on the smoker.  It was delicious!  Not pictured, the homemade potato salad and fresh pineapple we also had.

Thanks Karen!

Karen and Matt stopped by to give Skyler a get well present yesterday afternoon.  They gave him a "hydro flask" water bottle.  He was delighted.

A lovely day on the patio.  He has used the stickers that they provided to decorate his bottle.  :)

Simply amazing!!!

Skyler is back to normal!!!  The power of antibiotics is amazing.

We even got a 3 mile walk in by the Jordan Narrows yesterday afternoon.  His sign he made that folds up into his pocket to get the Frontrunner to honk.

Maybe?

We were at the pediatrician yesterday for a strep test.  That was negative.  We were sent to Primary Children's Riverton for a blood draw.  The pediatrician did a urinalysis and that turned out to be a possible urinary tract infection.  They prescribed an antibiotic. He took some last night and his temperature is down today!  Not out of the woods but this is the first morning in 5 days that he hasn't had a temp over 100 upon waking up.

However, he's fighting us to no end this morning about drinking water.  I'm about ready to run away...

Before the day went to hell.  The blood draw was horrific, they stuck him twice because he was (still) too dehydrated.

Relapse.

He was doing pretty good all day yesterday.  iPad, computer, train simulator all afternoon.  As soon as he got done talking to Grandpa on the phone, things fell apart.  Calling the pediatrician at 8:00 when they open today.

Fell asleep on the couch as I was making dinner.  He complained of being cold despite the inside temperature of the house was 78 degrees last night.

The difference of a day.

Doing much better yesterday afternoon!

Talking to Grandpa and laughing!

On the mend.

His Covid19 test came back negative.  He's still complaining of headaches when he gets up but he's doing much better.  It sounds like he has regular influenza.

Talking to Grandpa on the phone yesterday afternoon.  He was in bed all day. :(

Unexpected destination.

Well, after trying to get his fever under control and the vomiting, we ended up at Primary Children's Hospital for 6 hours yesterday afternoon.  Good?  Not dehydration and he was feeling better at bedtime.  Bad?  He woke up at 4:15 this morning and vomited twice.  I wasn't allowed in the hospital due to the Covid19 so I got to sit in the parking garage the whole time.  Doctor said this should pass in a few days.  Oh, and the poor kid had a Covid19 test!

View from the top of the parking garage.  Look at the dust!  It was really windy yesterday.

More from Delle.

The crew left the caboose.  It is now used as a shoving platform.

Train!

SO happy!

My trusty steed.

End of train on the siding.

Headlight on the main track!

Here she comes!

He was in awe.

A wave to the DPU just in case someone was inside.

Beavis and Butthead graffiti!

Ends of both trains.  The one on the siding took off as soon as the main cleared.

Tomorrow will be the pics Mommy took of our little adventure.  Sadly, Skyler got really dehydrated because he didn't drink his water and we were dealing with that Sunday afternoon and evening.  He's still a little dehydrated this morning but recovering.

A day trip to Delle.

We set out yesterday morning (after Skyler got his expanders off at the orthodontist, yay!) and headed 50 miles west of here to ride mountain bikes to Poverty Point.  An added bonus?  Trains!

Looking east.  Little did we know when we returned from riding, there would be 2 trains here!

Wye.

Wily Coyote and the Roadrunner!
Happy rider!

I thought these cars were just stored, nope!  On our way back, they were gone.

West face of the Stansbury mountains.

Which way?

What we came out for, Poverty Point.

More of Poverty Point, the east side.

North side.

Way up to the right on the horizon is Utah's largest source of pollution, U.S. Magnesium.

Seagulls were everywhere!  They were feasting on enormous crickets.

More tomorrow, trains and pictures that Mommy took.
