One year of blogging!

To mark the occasion, Skyler decided to wear his boots over his pajamas with footies last night!

Remember this?

Remember what green grass looks like?  Playing in the snow is nice, but not as nice as walking bare foot on grass.
Maizey dog misses green grass too.

Just think, 4 more months until everything is green again.  And Skyler will be two years old!!!

Finger painting.

With his breakfast! Notice he's covered with oatmeal. Ketchup works great for fingerpainting!

More Christmas!!

Skyler is a very loved little boy!  Everyone gave him excellent presents this year.  Here's a few highlights.
A John Deere barn!

A Thomas Tunnel!

Grandpa MADE him this nameplate with removable letters!  He's already learning how to say each letter, particularly "s" and "r".

Grandpa helping Skyler open his Cat big dump truck.  Just like the ones we saw at the copper mine this summer!

A JD monster tractor, complete with lights, sound, and smoke!

Toot toot!

My sister got Skyler a radio controlled Thomas the Tank Engine. I'll post a video later. (Altair is currently on my computer working from home.)

The best Christmas present!

A white Christmas!  As mentioned yesterday, it snowed here.  Pretty much all day too.  Best part?  Skyler got to ride in the heated tractor cab with me while I cleared snow with the snow blower!!  Merry Christmas everyone!!

A big thanks to Altair for taking photos while we played, I mean worked! :)
Getting his hearing protection on.

Here we go!

Look at that face!  He was so excited! (and warm in the heated cab)

It was rather amusing, he was trying to figure out how the snow was coming out of the blower.  By the end, he knew what was going on.

I can always tell his excitement level, the more focused he is and not trying to grab things, the more entertained he is.  He never even attempted to grab any of the controls in the cab!

"Wow!" Is what he kept saying.

We were a few houses down clearing the neighbors drives.  I usually clear about 7 driveways for the neighbors.

I tried to do a time lapse of the storm.  This was right as the front hit.

The most active and mechanicaly inclined little boy in the world!

Yesterday we played, shopped, napped, (only Skyler) and walked.  Skyler played with his JD toys, he played in a freshly cleaned out closet, (thanks babe) and saw the extended reach excavator on our walk.  He shouts "exggurvavur" when he sees any excavator.  It's adorable.  It's supposed to be apocalyptic snow here today, stay tuned for how that turns out tomorrow.  Oh, and Merry Christmas!!
Note the Annies Cheddar Bunnies in the bucket of the loader.

Cory combine vs. Johnny tractor.

When you run over cheddar bunnies, they get stuck in the tires.  Then you can eat the tires!

Sitting in the closet.

Excavator bucket.  Note  the drain holes to allow water to escape when loading trucks.

Maizey decided to sit for her photo with Skyler and the excavator.  You may remember this post from February.  Same unit.

Skyler next to the track.

"EXGGURVAVUR"

As we walked away, his head was looking out of the stroller and behind.  "Bye excavator!"

"I smell another doggy!"

Skyler's Great Grandma sent him a fleece John Deere blanket for Christmas.  Maizey dog had to investigate and immediately noticed that the blanket had Buddy dog scent on it.  (Buddy is the newest farm dog in Nebraska.  I really wanted to take Buddy to our house.)
"I smell something..."  Thanks Grandma for the beautiful blanket!

Remember this beautiful dog from September's posts?  Buddy!

Play-doh!

Skyler experienced Play-doh for the first time yesterday.  Like everything else that is new to him he was fascinated and didn't want to put it down.  I was concerned he would eat it, but that really wasn't a problem.  My only regret is I didn't get it out until 5:00 last night.  He played with it for another 2 hours!  I think we'll have to stock up on Play-doh this winter.
Hard to capture a sharp image when he's running like mad through the house with cans of Play-doh and a dumptruck in a bucket!

"I've got Play-doh!"

"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Swinging Play-doh!

Put the lid back on...

"Here Mom, you take the bucket."

Roll it...

Pat it...

Squeeze it out...

Done!  (I didn't realize that brown Play-doh wouldn't be the best to photograph.  You can figure out what brown Play-doh looks like on your own.)   :)
