12 hours of Legos.

Skyler got a new Lego set Wednesday afternoon.  Thursday, he got up at 7:00 and played with them for 12 hours!
Hard to see, but the little grapple is well over 40 years old.  Old meets new.

"This isn't right!"

If it's sunny, I usually open the front door so Eddy cat can sit in the sun and look out front.  Yesterday he was doing just that when I started hearing "meow, grr, meooerow".  I walk over and Eddy had a friend!  Not sure where the friend came from, but the friend didn't want to leave until Maizey dog came to the door to investigate!  The rest of the day Eddy was on "point" looking for kitties.

"Hi there!"

Surprised face!  Friend kitty had a collar on.  Too bad it was too long, notice the end has been dragging?

Cat standoff.

Friend kitty must have been young, or a really small female.  Eddy is much bigger and he's not even that big of a cat.

"He's in my chair!"

Said Skyler when Eddy cat hopped up.  Still trying to work on sharing.  Sigh...

He was going to sit down and push Eddy out.

I asked him if Eddy could share.  "I guess so" was his reply.

All that remains of a Mourning Dove after the Sharp Shinned hawk gets it.  Our bird feeder works in two ways!

"Let's go see the excavator!"

They're getting ready to dig another foundation down the street and that means using an excavator.  This will be the 5th house under construction, amazing that there's that much demand.
Wrong brand, but he was still excited.

Obligatory bucket shot.

Truck wash.

I managed to get my truck washed yesterday while Skyler rode his tricycle around the garage and driveway.

He was so happy (as was I) to be outside enjoying 51 degree weather!

Round Valley Version 2.0

Skyler got dropped off at Grandma & Grandpa's yesterday morning so Mommy and I could go ride our Fat Bikes.  Epic!  We had a great time and Maizey dog did too.  Lots of calories burned, this is definitely a high exertion sport!
Beautiful day!

Hawk mark in the snow.  Presumably where a mouse met his demise.

"Land of OZ" XC track.  This was fun and quite the workout.

Mommy enjoying "The land of OZ".  Land of OZ is named after the Osguthorpe family of Park City.  We were riding in one of their hay fields.
So another Fat Biker took this photo of Maizey and me and posted it to the Fat Bike Utah Facebook page!  How cool!?
What happens after 4 hours at G & G's?

Total collapse into sleep!  He was playing and eating a piece of cheese and boom!  He slept for 2.5 hours.

Legos!

Skyler inherited my Legos that I had when I was a kid this week.  It's been fun playing with him (mostly him telling me to build something) the past couple of days.  The Legos went from being organized to complete chaos though!
All neat and organized.

Not for long!

Scrambled!

We built a crane.

Complete with a grapple.

Wow!

My Father made Skyler a wooden crane!  It really works!  Skyler is obsessed with it now.  He even had to bring it home to play with (it will be going back to Grandpa's so there isn't any damage).

The boom and the hook are both functional!
He even made the brass cranking handles and soldered the hook!

Complete with eyeleted hooks to lift!

Head stand!

Also known as "trying to destroy the couch"!
Notice he has Legos in his hand?  I started down that path this week...

Fat Biking at Round Valley.

Sunday we headed up to the Park City area to ride our Fat Bikes and get some fresh air.  We met up with my sister and Skyler was thrilled.  I ended up pulling Skyler around in his sled the majority of the time up there.  It was epic!
Climbing on the single track while pulling 40+ of kid is a great warmup!

Time to get out.

He had to catch up and run along side Mommy.

Back in the sled!
An OK corral.

Karen and Skyler and Matt.

We need snow!  Beautiful day though.

Time for a snow angel.

Mommy is glad she brought her bike.
Maizey is glad she got to come along!
Those are some big dogs!  :)

Fatty tire and tracks.

Upside down tracks.

5" tires allow the bike to stand up all by itself!

Tracked skid steer for Skyler.

He fell asleep in the truck on the way home so I carried him in the house in his booster seat.  He slept like this for a couple of hours.

Art Pad follow up.

Skyler's getting pretty good at drawing on the iPad.  He even drew a picture of me yesterday!
Pretty good!

"Take my picture!"

We walked down to the new development or "job site" yesterday so Skyler could see the excavator backfilling a foundation.  On the way back, he spotted this trenching bucket and wanted to climb in.  He didn't get to climb in, but he did get his wish, a picture.

"It's taller than me!"

Art pad.

I downloaded the App "Drawing Pad" the other day for Skyler's iPad.  He's been using it ever since.  One great thing about it, no more messy crayons and wasted paper!

It has realistic crayons, colored pencils, chalk, and paints.

Custom colors.

He mostly just does lots of scribbling!  Yay technology!

High centered!

What happens when there's a low spot in the trail and your bike has training wheels?!

"Watch dis!"

That's what Skyler said the other day as he disappeared under our bed with a flashlight.
Here he goes!
Almost...

Under!

Glad I just vacuumed when the room was apart while we painted! :)

Out!
