As mentioned yesterday, we headed North to Promontary to see the Pegasus 1st stage motor test. We met up with a few of Skyler's classmates, Arianna, Artemis and Arianna's little sister Harper. The kids had a pretty great time in the bed of my truck, but they really had a great time out at the Spiral Jetty and Great Salt Lake after the motor test.
| It was cold at the test site! The kids hid out under the tonneau cover in the bed of my truck. |
| We were close to blastoff! This picture says so much! Artemis with the binoculars, Skyler with his phone, and the sisters all waiting with excitement. |
| Done! 1 minute and 108,000 pounds of propellant later, just the smoke is left. |
| It rose pretty fast due to the cold North wind. |
| On to the Jetty! Dirt roads all the way. |
| There it is! |
| A few people other people made the journey. |
| Red algae tinted water. |
| Princess got dirty! |
| Skyler walked over to check it out. |
| Cool little marker... |
| With an informative sign! |
| Our view while we waited for the girls to arrive. |
| Skyler in a basalt field. |
| Incredible geology. |
| Skyler with Artemis and Arianna. |
Part 2 tomorrow. A snake, a view like none other, and some quicksand. Stay tuned...
