Rocket adventure day, part 1.

As mentioned yesterday, we headed North to Promontary to see the Pegasus 1st stage motor test.  We met up with a few of Skyler's classmates, Arianna, Artemis and Arianna's little sister Harper.  The kids had a pretty great time in the bed of my truck, but they really had a great time out at the Spiral Jetty and Great Salt Lake after the motor test.

It was cold at the test site!  The kids hid out under the tonneau cover in the bed of my truck.

We were close to blastoff!  This picture says so much!  Artemis with the binoculars, Skyler with his phone, and the sisters all waiting with excitement.

Done!  1 minute and 108,000 pounds of propellant later, just the smoke is left.

It rose pretty fast due to the cold North wind.

On to the Jetty!  Dirt roads all the way.

A trip to the rocket ranch to watch a static test!

Stay tuned for the rest of the pictures, we even made it out to the Spiral Jetty and drove along the original transcontinental railway after the test.  A fantastic day!

After many unsuccessful attempts at flying his kite, we finally made it happen yesterday!

After some initial trials in the backyard, we headed down to the park.

Friday night excitement in the neighborhood.

The fire department showed up next door on Friday.  They had a carbon monoxide scare.  Everyone is fine, and Skyler got some free entertainment out of the whole event and even got to see some things inside of the fire truck.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Skyler got to build a "leprechaun trap" in class on Thursday and they did arts and crafts all day yesterday.  I picked him up from school and he said "today was the funnest day at school".

After school yesterday.  We headed to "Jump Around Utah" for Eleanor's 7th birthday party.  He wore his suspenders all day at school and has them on again today.  :)

Holi color festival.

Tuesday was the school's annual Holi Color Festival.  All the kids went out to the garden to throw colors on each other.
