Happy Halloween!!

"Who's your friend that likes to play?"

"BING BONG, BING BONG!"  Can you believe Mommy made his costume??  No pattern either!

At the pumpkin patch.

Since our garden didn't produce any pumpkins this year, we headed to our local pumpkin patch to get some pumpkins for carving yesterday.

Frankenstein.

We found a tiny wheelbarrow just for him.

Rolling his pumpkin along just like Linus.

HEAVY!!

Go Cubs!

Too bad they lost last night...
Looking mighty tired after a long week of school.  He was pretty happy to watch some of the game with me while Mommy was at dinner last night.

Autumn sunset.

After a near record breaking high temperature yesterday, we were treated to this sunset last night.
Red at night, sailor's delight!  Except that it looks like rain today...

200 hours.

I mowed the lawn yesterday and the tractor turned over 200 hours.  Not bad for 11 years!  It was my first tractor, and we all know how that resulted in 5(+?)  more additions to the "herd".

I've put all the hours on myself.  :)

Doesn't everyone have chrome hubcaps on their mower?

Jack-O-Lantern pizza.

No pics to show, but Skyler helped to make this delicious homemade pizza  last night for "Meatless Monday."
Complete with home grown tomatoes and "pizza" peppers.  Really, the variety is pizza on the peppers.  :)

Bob Ross Lives!!

Skyler has been wanting to paint with oils like Bob Ross for some time now.  He got his wish last night after dinner. His face really lit up when he saw the can of "Magic White" with Bob's picture on it.

Nice sky!
This is where the trees will live.

A pond here...

Adding some happy little leaves to our trees.

Skyler's first time solo mountain biking!!

After some consideration and practice rides around the neighborhood, we took Skyler to the entry level trail system near Corner Canyon this morning.  He was incredible!!!  Mountain biker, expert level and only 5 years old!!

At the trailhead.  No one knew what to expect.

Off he goes!

His little "piston" legs pumping away.

The boy has some amazing low speed bike handling skills.

He started to shout "I love this!"

Almost to the top, he rode every section on the "A" trail.

At the top of "A" trail.  Getting ready to descend.

Deer!

Twinky meadow.

Here he comes!

Lap #2.  We had to hike out the the overlook.

Singletrack!

He is incredible!

Getting ready for the water crossing.

Sweaty helmet hair!  We rode 3.8 miles and were out on the trails for 90 minutes.  I'm SO proud of him!!!

Bike ride(s)!

After a nearly 3 week illness, I finally got back on the bike earlier this week.  Skyler and Mommy rode around the neighborhood last night, and we went on a 10 mile family ride this morning.  Ahh, the freedom of 2 wheels and Fall weather.

Last night riding the Fatty around the neighborhood on the sidewalk.

Playground break during this morning's ride.

Mommy and I took turns pulling Skyler.  Here he is acting like an ambulance.

Power boost!

This is why he was acting like an ambulance, someone was having a bad day.  The paramedic F-750 truck passed us on the road going at least 70 mph!  It sounded like a jet engine with the cooling fan locked up on the engine.

We voted!

Via mail.  Skyler "voted" too!

He's been rather excited during the whole election process.

Charlotte's web.

We have a real life Charlotte's Web happening on the barn.  You can't see her, but there's a rather large cat face spider hiding in the eve.

She may have not made it last night though, it was 28 degrees here this morning!

Eating his snack on the hill.

Since I don't allow food in my vehicle, Skyler has found eating on the hill outside his school is an after school treat.  Too bad the rest of the day turned to shit after this picture was taken...

Tasty apple slices from the school kitchen.

Brr!!

It's getting cold here in Utah lately.  Mr. Mittens knows if he sits in front of the fireplace, I'll light it for him.
Not shown, the dog joined him after this picture was taken.

Like a Bob Ross painting!

The upper canal road is looking mighty Fall like lately.  Since Skyler has been enjoying watching "The Joy of Painting" lately, this shot is especially applicable.

Happy little shack!

New squeaky toy!

Maizey got a new squeaky toy from Costco yesterday.  She promptly chewed off the fuzzy cover and tried to get to the heart of the beast!
Now it's just a giant squeaker!

Crash and sick.

Thursday I got a call that Skyler was not feeling well at school.  I ended up picking him up early just to be safe.  He was pretty much out of control all afternoon once we were home though.  Yesterday, my 5 year old iMac finally crashed.  Thankfully, I figured out a backup plan and all my photos are on the cloud.

Playing SLS rocket Thursday afternoon.  Doesn't look sick...

An evening at Cross E Ranch.

Utah Farm Bureau hosted a "Hay Day" at Cross E ranch last night in celebration of National Farmer Day.  I worked with the late owner back when I was still working for John Deere but never imagined anything like this!  This has to be Utah's best agritourism attraction!  Skyler had fun in the corn maze and we had fun just experiencing the place.  We're definitely going back again this year.

The 7830 that I helped sell to the late owner.  They had 2 tractors pulling hay rides through probably the most sincere pumpkin patch I've ever seen.

Skyler being Thor.

The female hero cutout.

Deep in the maze.

We had to "track" the pie thief.  There were 6 separate "animal" tracks that he had to take rubbings from.

Rusty the dog liked to ride the ATV!

Danny MacAskill’s Wee Day Out

Helping Mommy.

Mommy picked our Catawba grapes Saturday and that meant time to bust out the juicer.  Skyler was thrilled to be using a machine to juice grapes.  We didn't have enough to make another batch of wine so the juice was frozen for later.

Mommy would dump some into the juicer and Skyler would press them through with the pusher.

Ready, go!  (We do this outside because the juicer spits seeds everywhere!)

Sunday morning at Lodestone Park.

We took advantage of an early Sunday morning and visited the new Lodestone Park that just opened. 5 million dollars gets some pretty great playground equipment!
Hopping off the log.

Using the spyglass.

Ready for the big slide?

Yes!

"Whee!"

Climbing up to see Mommy.

Even the dog was enjoying the new park.
