Geology lesson.

Skyler had a nice geology lesson in class yesterday afternoon.  This lead to a healthy discussion on our way home in the car.

Puppy!

The girls got a new puppy a few weeks ago and I forgot to get a picture.  We made a quick visit last night and got to see her again.  She has really grown!

To Spring!  It was nearly perfect here Sunday afternoon.  The pets took advantage of the sunshine and hung out on the front porch for a while.  It's beginning to stay light longer in the evenings, C'mon Spring!

He got to see Grandpa yesterday and much to his delight, there was a new locomotive on the model railroad!

New F3 A+B locomotive set on the main.  Skyler and Grandpa are reading all of the sounds it can make in the manual.

High water still running.

I took the dog on a walk on the Parkway yesterday afternoon and the river was still running full.

Gorgeous day yesterday after several extra cold days this week.

Skyler entertained himself pretty well yesterday afternoon playing music on the app.

He was really having a great time!

River a rising!

The difference a day makes!  I walked the dog Friday morning on the JRP and we walked there again yesterday.  They're releasing extra water from Utah lake to allow for snowmelt this Spring and the water rose 2 feet in 24 hours!

They had warnings up Friday in anticipation of the release.

Trail flooded yesterday!

It wouldn't be too hard for the City to extend that concrete wall and prevent this.  Every.  Single.  Year.  It floods!

The water drop was raging!  You could almost surf the waves here.  Not the amount of Phragmites floating and how cloudy the water was from sediment.

Skyler and Mommy finished his snow cave last night.  He's delighted.

More snow day fun.

Skyler really wanted Mommy to play with him all day Monday.  She was working from home due to the storm.  When 4:15 finally rolled around, he asked her to play outside in the 19 inches of fresh snow.  They started to pile up snow in the backyard to make an igloo.

Skyler fabricated this "magnifying hat" yesterday afternoon in attempts to ward off his boredom.  I helped him with the wire but everything else was him.
