Hawk!

We spotted this (Sharp Shinned?) hawk in the tree outside our bathroom 2 days ago.  It was on the hunt for some tasty birds!

Look at the talons!

Maddox Restaurant.

On our way back home Saturday, we stopped at Maddox restaurant in Perry for lunch.  How have I never been to this place before?!?!  Incredible food and hospitality.
Bison chicken fried steak!

Mommy had the "fake steak" or veggie steak.  It was delicious.

Skyler had a hamburger with apple sauce on a frisbee.  After consuming 5 rolls and a cornbread.

Golden Spike National Park winter steam festival.

We made the 100 mile drive up there yesterday.  It was cold!  The ranger said the windchill was 5 degrees below zero.  Skyler got cold an hungry (hangry) and was rather difficult as they ran "The Jupiter" back and forth along the tracks.
The view from the visitor's center.

Safety first!

Imagine a video of the locomotive here.  I can't get Blogger to upload a video after 30 minutes of trying.  Grr...

Air spray marker.

Skyler requested the "Crayola Airspray Marker" for Christmas and Grandpa got one for him.  A few teething problems aside, it delights!  He sprayed quite a while with it yesterday afternoon.  Thank you Grandpa!

Stencils included.

A very Merry Christmas indeed.

Despite me dreading the day and missing Mom, everything went perfectly yesterday.  Skyler is a much loved boy!  I am grateful that everyone could come over and celebrate with us.

His most loved gift?  A pocket watch!

Christmas dinner was delicious.  I cooked a ham and Karen brought some really delicious potatoes!

Tree of light.

We made the walk over last night to see the lights at the cemetery.
Being a "ball" in front of the lighted ball.

Wow!

Wrong animal in the bed!

Eddy cat (aka Mr. Mittens) has been stealing the dog bed as of late!  Maizey won't  boot him out, she just lays next to him and sulks.

He looks rather worried in this picture.  Not sure why.
It's quite possible that this may be the last post ever on this blog.  Blogger is nearly impossible to use these days!  Sigh...

Christmas Program at school.

It was his best one to date!

His teachers made the scarves and hat.  He made the "bell stick" using a tongue depressor.

One million lights!

We met up with some friends last night to see "Christmas in color".  It was rather impressive and good to see our friends.  Skyler had a wonderful time playing with Abby and Stew.

The kids running up to the candy cane tree.
The view from inside.  Wow!

He was SO happy!  The kids even had hot chocolate to drink.

Safety First!

One cannot be too safe when running a railroad!

He decided to try my hardhat on in the car and wore it into Grandpa's.  Looks pretty official!

Retro.

It sounds as though my Sister is planning on celebrating her birthday at the roller skating rink next month with a skate party.  We got to talking at Grandpa's yesterday afternoon and he produced a pair of skates that I had when I was probably 10!  Turns out, they fit Skyler and after replacing the laces when we got home, he started skating in the basement!

Last night just getting started.

This morning before school, skating backwards!

Speaking of trains...

Skyler and Grandpa have a mighty impressive model railroad!

Weekends mean serious business in Grandpa's garage!

And then I walked the dog!

Just enough snow on the canal roads to get a decent workout.

She walked in my tire tracks on our walk.

Making Christmas gifts.

Skyler and Mommy have been sewing gifts for his classmates.  He is running the serger all by himself.

Pretty good!  He's really quick on the serger too.

Thanksgiving snowman.

We got a pretty decent amount of snow on Thanksgiving this year.  That meant  near perfect conditions for building a snowman!

Pretty good!

Success!

Thanksgiving dinner 2019 was one of our best yet!  Everything was delicious and we all enjoyed each other's company for a few hours.  Thank you family for attending.

Not pictured, the two pies.  Both were incredible!  Pecan from my Sister and pumpkin from our garden made by Mommy.

Thanksgiving 2019.

Happy Thanksgiving.  2019 has been shitty, but we still have a lot to be thankful for.

Dinner is at 2:00 today.  Looks delicious! :)

His last Thanksgiving Feast at school.

It did not disappoint!  He said it was the biggest and best one in the 4 years he's attended.

Ready to eat!

Under the weather?

Climb a tree and feel better!

Despite what we thought was a cold coming on, he powered through Sunday and perked up after he got some fresh air.

Maybe the last nice weather walk of the year?

Snow is forecast here all week.  We got one last Fall walk in Saturday afternoon.

Nearly perfect day.
