A hike to the Silver King Mine.

7 mile loop, 1,888 feet of climbing (in the first 3.5 miles) and one unforgettable day.

Headframe is all enclosed.

View from the top looking north.

The mill building isn't restored.

We're going to have to return to explore.

Imagine working on that tin roof?!

Lots of power needed back in the day.

Massive transformers!  They were empty.  Sheet metal cooling fins.

Zero safety systems.
Blacksmith shop inside.

Hoist.

Switchgear.

Hoist motor and gearbox.

Milwaukee makes a first aid kit?!

Ore cars.

Danger!

Rails still lead into the mine.

Wood cribbing for shoring up the inside.

Mine entrance.

Security cams everywhere.

Neat cast concrete facade.

Entrance.

Momma moose and calf.

She didn't notice us at first.

Sample mill building interior wash sink.

Sample mill interior.

She was snoozing.

Cabin.

The Overlook Hotel?!  Looks just like the "Shining".

These clowns are a year old this week.

When we found them last November, we (and the Vet) guessed them to be around 8 weeks old.  That means mid-September birthdays.

Mr. Mischief zonked.

And again.

They love watching the quail from Skyler's window.

Miss Shaggy aka, Princess Puffles has the window perch all to herself.

Pakhet and Mischief.  I can't imagine ever separating any of them now.

Miner's Day at Park City.

Altair and I headed up to Park City yesterday to celebrate Labor Day at the annual "Miner's Day" celebration.  What a great time!  Just like the Box Elder County Fair, this will be our new annual tradition.

(Nothing is in order, Google sucks!)

Unimog snow plow.

Everyone said they hoped it got lots of use this season.

Parade openers.

Doggy!

VOTE!

Studebaker with the mother in law seat in back.  As it should be!

Drilling and mucking area.

Utah Commerative Air Force opened the parade.

Pretty cool.

Miner's hospital built by the mining union because everyone was dying of silicosis.  The flowers were nice.

D8K large track type tractor at the mouth of the canyon.  They're upgrading the big power line in the canyon.

Remember this?

More flowers at the Miner's Hospital.

Our view...

While we enjoyed some Aggie ice cream and BYU Creamery ice cream after the competition.

Not too many people.

The competitors posing for a photo.

Mucking and drilling area.

Great clouds.  We never got rained on.

Old town.

The Eimco Mucker was impressive. It loads a ton of material in 30 seconds!

I hope to upload some videos tomorrow if Google will cooperate.  Stay tuned.
