Progress on the JD 110.

It's been a while since I've had a chance to work on the '65 110. Winter made it impossible for any paint work. Fortunately, the past couple if weeks have been nice enough to do prep work and yesterday some painting. Like the movie Christmas Vacation, "she's a real beaut Clark!"

We need a cleanup on aisle 5!

This is what happens when a quick trip to the bathroom turns awry.  I thought he would be OK, he was playing so nice beforehand.  His laughter was hysterical!  "What could be going on" I wondered from down the hall? I knew the dog was sleeping in our room so it wasn't the dog. Uh oh, he got the baby powder from his changer!  He would shake the powder, it would rain all over him, and he would repeat with great delight.  It looks worse than it really was.  Boy oh boy, he sure smelled good the rest of the day!  I sent the last photo to Altair at work, she nearly peed herself sitting at her desk!  She had to explain why she was laughing so hard to the rest of the office.  They all thought it was hilarious too.  (sorry these aren't museum quality pics, there was a bit of a rush)

What it looked like as he was doing it.

Shake! Shake!Shake!

I don't see a problem here Dad.

Eating my veggies!

I shared some of my mixed veggies from lunch with Skyler yesterday. He especially loved the peas, he picked them out to eat first.

Look what can do!

Every night I give Skyler a bath. He loves it! He usually has a lot more energy after his bath. Last night, he was so excited to show us how he can take his pants off!

Curly hair.

Both Altair and I have curly hair. Almost Jew-fro curly. It was a given that Skyler would have curly hair too. Altair is waiting until his first birthday to cut his hair. Poor guy, he's starting to look like a hobo!

The wind!

I swear it's getting windier in Utah. It feels like we live in Wyoming it's so windy! Skyler doesn't seem to notice but the pets do. Both the cat and dog are freaking out. Here's a couple of pics looking outside at the storminess today.

Lazy Sunday.

Not much going in here today. Everyone is still in recovery mode. Skyler is climbing and crawling on anything he can.

EDIT: We took him out in the yard on his wagon. He loves riding in it or on anything that moves. He would reach for the dog toys and I would pick them up for him. Then he would throw them out for the dog to play. So clever!

Good grief!

I keep thinking I'm feeling better, but I'm not. We went to IFA yesterday and bought potatoes to plant in the garden today. That will have to wait. Altair is now sick as well. At least Skyler is feeling better.

Spring and planting Skyler a tree!

While neither Skyler or I am 100%, we're both feeling much better.

Yesterday, Altair came home early to feed him and after that, we went outside.  It was 70 degrees, a lovely Spring day!  Skyler loves to be outside.  He crawls all over the lawn, stopping to see the different textures and sights.  He even hugged the kitty and dog.  We're pretty sure he muttered "Maizey" too.

This past Christmas, we bought a live tree instead of a cut tree.  It was decided that we would make that "his" tree.  My parents have a tree that was planted for me when I was born in their yard.  I also remember my Grandmother planting a tree for my sister when she was born, (all grandkids have a tree planted for them in her yard, I was too young to remember mine being planted) so it was natural that we would plant a tree for Skyler.  We picked a spot in the Alpine garden in the backyard.  Let's hope we have better luck with this tree than some of the others in the past.

Clapping!

Having some water just like his Mommy.

Don't touch me Mom, I'm playing with this ball.

I love you kitty!

Standing next to Maizey.

Hugging Maizey.  The dog is really getting along well with him.

Bye doggy!

I love this!

The dog checking on the hole.  (yes, I used the tractor's loader to hold the spoil while I dug the hole)

The tree in the pot.

The tree in the ground!

Thanks Mom and Dad! :)

Getting better.

I still feel like shit, but Skyler seems a little better. Altair must think so, she left us alone today. It sure is hard watching a 10 month old when you don't feel good.

On a more positive note, I made some of the best chicken noodle soup I've ever had yesterday. I used quinoa/corn veggie pasta instead of flat noodles. Other than that, same old recipe.

Closed.

Now I'm sick.  Skyler is still sick.  His cough seems to be breaking though.  Altair is home today to take care of him (and me, I guess).

Houston, we have a problem.

Skyler is sick. This would explain why he was so fussy yesterday. Somehow, the miraculous recovery from Friday's little bout has relapsed. Itchy nose and wheezing. Poor little guy!

John Deere at 175

Not too many companies can say they've been around 175 years.  John Deere has. This is a great video to celebrate their anniversary.
Skyler is being a pest and finally fell asleep.  We're back to not eating and fussing all the time.  What a great time!  Hopefully it will get better this week.

Climbing.

Now that Skyler has figured out how to shuffle around on his feet while holding on to stuff, he has learned to climb!  Like up on the couch or on to the dishwasher.

Getting the garden ready and feeling much better.

I managed to get the garden tilled and applied some fertilizer yesterday. I think the soil was perfect for tillage.

Skyler seems to have made a complete recovery. Who knows what was wrong...

We were on borrowed time anyway.

We think the Bubbs is sick. We can't tell if it's teething, or something else. He has a bit of a fever and we gave him tylenol for it. He just wants to be held today. Poor little guy!
