At last!

Mommy and I got to go mountain biking yesterday after a month of rain.  It felt good to be back out in nature and we both enjoyed ourselves very much.  Thanks to G&G for watching Skyler and wearing him out, he took a 3 hour nap yesterday afternoon!

Both bikes are sporting Surly Knard tires.  Mine are 4.8", hers are 3.8".  :)

Made it!  We normally go down the Orson Smith trail.  Today we climbed it.  That was a bad idea looking back.

We went to IFA yesterday in search of a whiskey barrel to no avail. Skyler did get to see the baby chicks, which made him happy.

Skyler wanted his own custom bathroom he told me last weekend.  I asked what color or type of bathroom and he replied "John Deere!"  I can't argue with that!  I started Wednesday afternoon and finished yesterday morning.  I still have to hang some wall decor, and we're waiting on a shipment of JD bathroom accessories including a shower curtain with tire hooks!  In the meantime, here's some in progress shots and a teaser.

Fun with the blower.

I've been using the electric blower to blow all the standing rain water off the back porch.  Skyler opened the door Sunday morning to see what I was doing and this happened.

"Whee!"

He didn't want me to stop, I figured if I kept doing it, he'd be bald!

Whew!!

That was quite a weekend!  Even with all the stormy weather, we managed to get at least one physical activity in.  Last night, we got a 12 mile bike ride in.  This was a very welcome sight, Skyler wears his head lamp while Mommy reads a story to him at bedtime.

Continuing the rail trail theme.

We headed South to Bridal Veil falls yesterday to escape some of the stormy weather up here.  Wrong!  We still got a rained on at the end of our picnic/walk.

I rode this tram when I was probably 8 or 10.  It was billed as "The world's steepest tram."

There was a restaurant at the top that I think served carnival food.  I seem to remember a hamburger and french fries.

Someone set the building on fire in 2008 and soon after the cables from the tram were removed.
