5 years old!!!

It's almost impossible to believe that Skyler is five today.  Wow.
Minutes old, April 30, 2011.
My "mini me" last week.  Complete with his own difficult personality.  :)

Birthday presents from school?

One of his classmates won't be able to make it to his party on Tuesday so he brought Skyler a present at school yesterday.

The pelican walk.

We saw over a dozen pelicans last night either flying above, or swimming in the Jordan River.
The first 3.

Just bobbing up and down looking for fish.

Too bad they can't read!  I wouldn't fish here.

A little further South, 8 flying above.

One peeled off just like a fighter jet.

Getting ready to land.

A couple more joined the first group.

And the outcast.  Maybe we saw him Monday night all by himself?

A pelican, storm clouds, and tall grass.

We had a little sun at the beginning of our walk.

This guy was all by himself.

"Storm clouds!"

Maizey loves this tall grass!

At the dog park.

Since we went on a bike ride yesterday, Maizey didn't get her Sunday walk.  We made up for that by taking her to the dog park where she could run around and smell all the smelly smells.
Smells!

This is one of her favorite games, playing tag with Mommy and me.

Smelly gopher hole!

Our happy little family.

Good clouds.

Mommy was blowing the fuzz off of dandelions with Skyler.

Dog at the top of the hill.  Looks like an old Windows 95 background.  :)

Smelling her way back to the car.

Walking before the storm.

We drove down to the Jordan Narrows area of the Parkway yesterday morning.  There's a new section that runs North.  After walking part of it in the terrible wind, we turned around to walk the South section that we're familiar with and it was more out of the wind.
It was a bit chilly starting out.

Looking West towards the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

East view.

Pumping station.

North view.

Panoramic pic.

This gorgeous Indian Paintbrush was growing along the old fence line.

Remnants of the metal siphon pipe going uphill.

TRAIN!!

Diesel locomotive pushing the train from the rear end.

One working windmill, one broken.

Sometime in the last year they dug up the nice clay sedimentary walls of this canyon.  :(

There's still a little left.

"What?"

The U.P. was working on the tracks.

Medical helicopter.

An odd place for a rope swing, this is right next to a bridge.

Track alignment machine.

Working now, it was fresh off of a service.

Up the big hill!

They were singing "I think I can, I think I can!"

I see headlights!

Northbound.

The sun came out.

I want to see this section from the train.  We've been talking about taking it for a ride to Prove, stay tuned...
