Crawfish rescue.

The apocalyptic rain on Sunday morning lead to flooding at the park/retention basin.  This mean that lots of crawfish were blown out of the storm drain and into the park.  I was taking care of the girls' dogs and was walking along and there was this tiny lobster rearing up at me!  I texted Mommy and soon Skyler and her were headed down to the rescue.  We found 24 in the morning, and after another cloudburst, another 10 were rescued in the afternoon.

This was the monster that reared up at me.  He was about as big as my hand.

I told Mommy to bring a "trowel" and she read it as a "towel".  Oh well, it work just fine anyway.

They were tenacious!  I was using my knife to cut the grass that his claw was hanging on to.

Stampede!

After our hike, we saw the bison headed toward the shore.  A quick drive South, we got to see them cross the road.

Grass instead of water means lots of food for bison to eat.

Look how many!  Lots of calves too!

The group that crossed has now joined the original group out on the lake.

Antelope Island adventure, part 1.

Oh my God!  Where to start?  We had such a wonderful time yesterday out on Antelope Island!  The weather was perfect, the conditions too, and everyone hiked without complaint.  6.1 miles, 2,100 feet of elevation!
