We think it's the last one of six.  Probably on the 4th brood by now, not many have made it to adulthood.

We headed out in the motorhome Sunday morning to try and escape the valley heat.  We made it to Croyden where we played in the cool Weber River water last year.  Despite it being really busy with river runners, we found a spot all to ourselves.

Operation crawfish rescue!

After the torrential downpour Thursday, Skyler made it down to the park to see if any crawfish had been flooded out of the canal.  He rescued 16!

Quite the wildlife wrangler! Complete with jungle boots!

He named this one "big blue" and wanted to keep him.

Instead, we released them all back into the canal.

FINALLY!!!!

It rained! A lot.  We got 1.29" in under an hour last night.  Supposed to be more coming in the next few days.  What a relief.

Maizey dog had a limp yesterday for no apparent reason.  I got worried that she had suffered a stroke in the night and she might not be long for this earth.  Skyler heard me talking to Mommy on the phone and went downstairs to sew Maizey a pillow!

He cut out the fabric and used pins to hold it together while he sewed using the machine.

 We have found a new way to escape the grueling summer heat at 10,000 feet!

Looks a bit like Glacier National Park.  We can't wait to go back on Sunday.

 We caught the Eastbound California Zephyr yesterday morning.
