Play date with Eleanor.

Sunday morning after a massive fit, we met up with Eleanor and her parents at Mulligan's golf for a round of miniature golf.
Monkeys in a tree!

Enjoying one of Mommy's home made cookies.

Both looking rather grown up.  Sigh...

"We got a lot of work to do!'

That's what he said after I finished trimming on Thursday.  He got out his toy trimmer, donned his hearing protection, and went to work.

He was a blur of motion!

Trimming right were I did only minutes earlier.

Headed into the deep underbrush.

The chicks at school.

Skyler's class has been raising 2 baby chicks this past month.  It's always nice to see the kids reactions to seeing and touching a baby chicken.

Ms. Jasmin holding the chicken for all the kids to see and feel.

After school, he wanted an English muffin on the patio.

New streetlight!

Our city is spending $3.5 million(!) on new LED streetlights.  The light in on our street was definately due for replacement, it's almost as sold as I am!
Getting started.

Up he goes!

Old light gone.

New light being installed.
All finished!

Looks good!  Too bad it doesn't work, it never came on last night!

Watching the shit show.

Next door is attempting to build a garage using block.  This means the occasional cement truck driving right past our kitchen window. At least Skyler is enjoying the (lack of) progress...

Snorkeling in the tub.

Skyler found my snorkel tube Sunday afternoon.  After that it was "when can I have a bath"?  He was so excited to be able to breathe under water!
He figured out how to do it all on his own.

SO happy!!

Lodestone Park.

Although it doesn't officially open until August, we sneaked past a fence to "preview" the new park out in Kearns.  It's not a typical park, loads of creative ideas and playgrounds!
Looking East from the connection trail to Mountainview Highway.

Trying to get him to climb up the path.  He was being rather difficult!

Yay!

It's so nice to have Mommy back home!  We sure missed her all last week.
It's nice to be back to our normal routine.  Family Parkway walks were missed greatly last week.

After school play date.

We met Skyler's classmate at a park yesterday after school.  My hope for him taking a nap dwindled though, he was as charged up as ever when my sister came and picked him up for more park time!
His artwork as school.  His was the only one who wrote their own name.  :)

Having a picnic before his classmate arrived.

Swather day!

2.5 hours riding around cutting hay at Wayne's farm.  If we hadn't broken down, Skyler would have stayed all day!

The walk before the storm.

Sunday afternoon before the storm hit and Mommy had to catch a plane, we returned to the Redwood Nature Center to walk.  Skyler was on his tricycle in hopes that he would keep the pace with Mommy and me.  Wrong!  I don't think he's ever ridden his trike so slow!
Community refugee garden.

Turtle speed trike.

Iowa?

The hound trying to decide who she should be nearest.

Train!

Barney backhoe.

Where I met Mommy 15 years ago, Radius Engineering.

Great clouds.

Wave to the train!

Pond.

Hmm, what's this?  A great idea for a compost bin?!

Baching it.

Mommy is out of town all week so it's just Skyler and me.  We kicked off the night by having T.V. dinners.  He was thrilled!

He had a kids chicken nugget meal with mac-n-cheese and corn.  I had the turkey dinner.  Surprisingly, they were both quite good.

Beat the Mayor!

Mommy and Skyler ran in the one mile "beat the Mayor" race yesterday.  He had a pretty good time and was even passing other runners!
They're off!

Here they come!

Finish line!

He got a ribbon!

Learning how to do CPR with the same paramedics that he saw at the fire station.

Mommy as a LEGO figure!

AKA, a rocket scientist!
Mommy says that the hair color and glasses throws it off, looks pretty close to me!

Basement skateboarding.

Skyler got a skateboard for his birthday.  He decided that Monday was a good day to learn to ride it downstairs.  He's actually getting the hang of it rather quickly, I was surprised that I could still ride one after 30 years.
He came over to me already wearing his helmet!  Smart kid!

He scooted back and forth for over an hour.  He can stand up and scoot along for about 6-8 feet at a time.

LEGO space shuttle!!

Skyler received an Amazon gift card from Auntie Sarah for his birthday.  After all of last week's birthday pandemonium calmed down, he sat down with me and we looked at different Lego sets and he settled on the space shuttle.  It was a long wait, (for him) we ordered it Friday and it showed up right after we got home from school yesterday afternoon.  It took us 2 hours to build, but it has provided non-stop entertainment since!
7 Bags of parts!

Inspection of said parts.

It came with Mommy, the Rocket Scientist!

2 hours later, this was the excitement level the rest of the day.
