FOUR YEARS OLD!!!!!

Skyler turned 4 today!

Two days old.

Taken today.  Technically he's not 4 until 9:50 tonight.  I still can't believe how fast the time has gone by.

Training runs and rides.

Mommy has a half marathon to run in two weeks.  Skyler and I have been tagging along on most of her training runs on our bikes.  We did the same last night and even Maizey dog came along for the 3 mile run!  As always, Skyler loves riding on his trail-a-bike!  He's waving and singing the whole time.

Snake!

We have this guy living in the front yard.  Skyler is quite happy to be able to see a snake almost every day.

He's been looking quite cold the past few days.

Legos with gears!

I found a Lego builder set at Michaels a few weeks ago.  Yesterday was an inside day for the most part so we broke out the kit and started building away.  Our first build was a "beaker blender."  Skyler wanted to see it "blend" so he filled the sink and started cranking away.

It's geared 1:8 so the "beater" really moves!

Chinooks!

We spotted a CH-47D Chinook helicopter flying yesterday.  We drove out to see if we could watch it fly and/or land.  Almost!  We got there just in time to see the rotors spinning down.  I think these are Marine helicopters, they have long refueling probes on the nose.

Skyler found his toy excavator in the basement over the weekend.  He got it about a year ago.  Ever since Christmas it has been hiding in the basement.  He was so delighted when he saw it, it was like getting a new toy!

A birthday party.

We celebrated Grandma's (Mom's) birthday yesterday at her house.  There was a piñata, presents, pin the tail on the donkey, and ice cream cake!  Skyler was in sensory overload.

Wind!

We had major high winds Tuesday this past week.  No damage at our house, but the new development got hit pretty hard!

I took the dog on a run using my Fatty yesterday.

Lots of this lately.

Due to a weather delay (which I'm thrilled about, we need the water) we've been confined inside most of this week.  That has meant lots of carpet farming and watching shows.

Spring storm, a day later.

We had quite the snow storm yesterday.  It snowed nearly the entire day.  Thankfully, this late in the year the snow won't be around too long.  It's supposed to be mid 50's today and in the 60's this weekend.

I overseeded our lawn with some grass seed that is supposed to use 30% less water than traditional Bluegrass yesterday.  Skyler took the opportunity to use the (now empty) spreader and "help me".

Friday afternoon we headed down to our neighborhood park to see what the city was working on.  They appear to be upgrading the storm drain and are breaking in their brand new Cat backhoe.  Skyler was pretty excited.

Haircut!

I gave Skyler a much needed haircut yesterday.  He held the vacuum hose while I cut his hair.

Legos.

We're still playing with the Legos that the Easter Bunny brought Sunday.  The only problem is he takes everything apart and has me rebuild it instead of him!

Of course right after I took this, I caught him with a Lego piece in his mouth and he nearly choked on it!  Legos are on a temporary hiatus for now...

A birthday party for Easton.

Saturday we celebrated Easton's 4th birthday.  Easton is 3 weeks older than Skyler and we first met his parents in our birth class.  We've been close ever since.  Amazingly, Skyler got along with all of the kids and wasn't trying to bully anyone around!  We might have a chance at this after all...
