BLT for me!

Skyler said he wanted to try a BLT sandwich at lunch Friday.  Deal!  Anything to get this kid to eat a vegetable.  I made them for dinner and he ate the whole thing.

Yum!

Rabbit!

Spotted on our walk Monday evening.  Skyler was convinced he was going to catch one.  He didn't.

Another year.

Here we are again!  Time for the annual trip to the GSL Marina to watch the sun set on Summer Solstice.

Skyler (in orange) and Mommy walking out toward the Mirabilite formations.

Both of them at the water's edge.

9:04pm, sunset on the longest day of the year.

Rough weekend.

As I mentioned yesterday, Skyler got a covid booster, tetanus shot, menangitus vaccine and the HPV vaccine Friday at his annual checkup.  The covid booster knocked him down pretty hard, hitting him at 04:30 Saturday morning.  His lymph node in his right armpit swelled up but not so much that he couldn't play on the Oculus!

Laying on his bed and playing on the Oculus!

Decent Father's Day.

Skyler was in rare form yesterday.  His 4 vaccination shots he received Friday didn't help.  Thankfully, he got his act together toward the end of the day.

I remarked on the way to the Parkway how we hadn't seen any pelicans in a while.  Look who was on the water!

Pellet grill smoked prime rib.  Yum!

Happy Father's Day!

Here's to all the Dads out there.  It isn't easy but it's worth it.

Model day.

"Doc" in 1/72 scale is finished!

Looks great on the wall!

Also, I got my Scaletrains 6111 locomotive back from warranty repair. :)

Looks real!

Warning!

More B-29 content!  Skyler and I have been working on building a model of "Doc".  I had to learn how to create our own custom decals using a photo of the actual noseart on the plane.  Success!

After applying the custom decal.  (I fixed the paint on the canopy.)

Not too shabby!
We are going to hang it on the wall in the living room to remind us of our incredible flight experience.

A meal that took a day.

I started making tortellini pasta salad first thing Saturday morning.   Homemade creamy Italian dressing, cooking the tortellini, chopping lots of veggies, etc. We all enjoyed eating it that evening on the patio.  It was too hot for pizza, this was a great alternative.

A sprinkle of red wine vinegar?  Yes please!

Bike ride!

Mental note, don't try and ride the Parkway on Saturdays.  WAY too many people and events!

We've been riding the beach cruisers lately.  Now Skyler wants one.

Taco Friday?

Any day is taco day!  Mommy has been requesting cilantro lime chicken tacos as of late.  I made them for Friday dinner.  We enjoyed them out on the patio.  They were delicious!

Celebrating Pride Month with some House Wine.

My impulse buy at Costco earlier in the day, new Melamine taco set!

Alternate beverage option.  It paired well with the tacos.

Our little patio setup.

Mmm!

Gorgeous!

Track and field.

Mommy signed him up for summer track and field.  I got the pleasure of taking him last night while Mommy was partying up Ogden Canyon at the Rocket Ranch Retreat for a work dinner.

Annd, there was a football practice going on.  Shitty music playing only made it worse.

Sprint practice.  He wasn't a fan.

Money pizza?

Noelle came up with such a cute idea for Skyler's birthday present!  A pizza box with a money pizza inside!

Exactly $20.

The park rose.

It has been here as long as I can remember.  Smells like lemon!

The City cut it way back 2 years ago.  It has grown back even bigger!

Planting the garden.

Mommy and Skyler started planting the garden Friday after the movie. We decided to scale it way back this year due to the ongoing drought.

Planting beans. This rapidly turned into a shit show after he managed to spill an entire bag of seed.  He then mixed the spilled seeds with the dry soil and spent well over an hour attempting to sift the seeds from the soil.  At one point, he was laying in the dirt!  He's 11...
