Finally.

Monoon season is upon us!

Supposed to be like this all week.  And it's cooler!

Skyler continues to love everything about The Civil Air Patrol.  He did amazing last night and only missed passing off his first PT test by 2 sit-ups.  Tomorrow morning, he goes flying with an instructor pilot and one other cadet!

He did 62 laps!  

He finished second to a much older cadet who did 75 laps.

HOT!

We're in a heatwave here as is most of the country.  I think the fans in the house have been running 4 or 5 days straight.

She's been laying in front of the box fan that boosts the cool air from the AC vent in the floor.

Let's have a wedding!

Altair's brother got married Monday evening.  He met his wife online during COVID.  She is from Thailand and is a welcome addition to our family.  It has been a stressful month preparing for the wedding but they pulled it off without incident.

He was asked by the bride to be the ring bearer.

She wanted a 5 tier cake and she got it.

The exchange of rings happened at exactly 7:31pm per a Buddhist monk told to the couple in Thailand last year.

Red letter day!

Skyler received his official Civil Air Patrol handbook and related materials in the mail yesterday!

He was thrilled!

 I think it helped take his mind off of his orthodontic appliances that were put in Thursday.  He's going to be in pain for a few days.

First Friday concerts.

The local library has been hosting free concerts on the first Friday of each month.  We decided to attend this month's free concert.  It was a Beetles tribute band and they were not good.  Nevertheless, it was fun to get out and enjoy a summer evening.

We completed his registration last night and he got his uniform for the Civil Air Patrol!

4th of July flyover.

The 419th fighter squadron from Hill has been doing 4th of July flyovers for 30 years they said.  Yesterday, we caught them up at the top of the hill at the cemetery.  Goosebumps every time!
