Shed progress.
We got the roof shingled and I got the first coat of paint on yesterday. It's looking real nice! Trim, and a door, and I will fill it up with JD tractors and attachments.

The best movie ever. Period.
I've been waiting to see Rush all summer. Altair and I saw it yesterday. It was so damn good! A big thanks to my parents for watching Bubbs while we got to play grown ups. And to my father for getting me interested in Formula 1 25 years ago. Go see the movie.

The corn chopper!
We made a trip over to Ken's farm to watch the (severely underpowered) corn chopper yesterday afternoon. I realize it's the wrong color equipment, but at least it was farm equipment. :)

"Niner do it!"
Since he can't quite say his "s's", Skyler calls himself "Niner." Here he is helping on the new shed yesterday.

Yes, he can actually use the clamp as intended. He figured it out all on his own.

New shed progress.
As promised, here are the pics of the new tractor/garden shed that my father and I am building. Skyler has to be involved because Grandpa is involved. It's really rather amusing.

Thursday morning was cold! Someone was still a little sleepy.
"My help!" That's his way of saying I'll help. :)
One pier block cut into the sod.
Another pier block set in the ground.
Starting to look like a foundation.
All 9 piers set.
Checking on Grandpa.
Uh oh, he got the screw gun.
Pretending to drill.
Yesterday. Much warmer!
He didn't want his hair combed or his picture taken.
Climbing the newly installed floor joists.
Tap dancing on the plywood.
Even Maizey dog got involved.
Whew, we got a lot done yesterday. I even sealed the floor last night with Thompsons.

Birthday Fat Bike ride.
As mentioned yesterday, I went for a Fat Bike ride up to Dog Lake yesterday. I hadn't ridden that trail in over 12 years. It's still steep as hell and a long grind! Altair had never ridden it at all. We had a great time though. Lots of other riders giving us respect for riding Fatties on such a grueling trail.
I usually dread my birthday. I don't really know why. This year was awesome! Thanks everyone for making it so great! I'll post the new shed construction progress tomorrow.

Thirty seven.
That's how old I am as of today. I'm celebrating my birthday by riding the Fat Bike up to Dog Lake in Millcreek canyon. Also, Union Pacific has a series of videos released that show 4014's progress in preparation for the dead tow to Cheyenne.

The Home Depot excavator.
Skyler and I went to Home Depot yesterday to order materials for my new tractor shed. After negotiating a FREE delivery due to the fence SNAFU, we headed outside so Skyler could sit on the rental excavator. I couldn't get him down was the only problem with that plan. A promise of going to see the pigs and tractor on Ken's farm was the only solution.

Whew, got out of Home Depot. Now we're at the farm. The pigs are eating an apple.

Now he didn't want to leave the pigs....
