Grandpa is watching Skyler this afternoon. So I took the dog for a walk like I usually do on Wednesdays. Imagine my surprise when we were walking along and saw one of these! Everyone knows John Deere makes the best equipment in the world, but Caterpillar is a close second. This is a Cat 324D long reach excavator. I have no idea why it's being used on a tiny canal like this one. These machines are built for levees. Salt Lake County owns this, there must have been someone in accounting wanting a new toy for the sand box.
