A trip to Copperton park.

We headed out to Copperton to try and escape the now dangerous levels of pollution here in Smog Lake City yesterday.  We were nearly successful, it was right on the verge of seeing clear skies.  Skyler had a wonderful time playing in the "any town USA" feeling park.
Can you see it?

BLUE SKY!!

A melted ghost deer track.

Skyler up on the mound.

Slide!

At one point Maizey was up on the mound too.

Lots of places to play fetch.

"This is a great park!"

Very memorable.

Right before Christmas, Skyler and I watched Ford's "Snowkhana's 1-4" on YouTube.  He laughed and laughed at the Hotwheels Ford Fiesta making "smoke" using cotton batting.  Fast forward to this past week and Maizey dog "unstuffed" one of her toys.  Instant smoke for Skyler!

Smoking!

It's going so fast you can barely see it!  :)

Ticky ball!!!

Our Utah air is so bad I can't even take the dog for her evening walks this week.  Instead, she's been playing ticky ball inside to get her stimulation and exercise.

Happy dog!

Exercising in the basement.

Since our air is SO bad, we've been getting our exercise indoors this week.  Skyler wanted his own stationary bike, so I used some scrap wood and made his little bike "stationary."  :)

Getting in a little "Top Gear" watching in while we ride.  Clarkson was driving the Ariel Atom in case you wondered what was going on.

"Watch dis!"

As fast as he can pedal!!!

Look what Skyler can do!!!

He typed his own name in on the PBS kids app!!!
What I saw as I walked past him.

What he typed!!!  He found all the letters and finished his name!  Amazing!

Sunday's epic Fat Bike Ride.

We headed out toward's Corner Canyon yesterday afternoon to get a Fat Bike ride in before the silly football game.  One word sums it up; unforgettable!  Mommy said that we probably couldn't duplicate the same feeling ever again and I hope she's wrong, it was the most fun I've ever had riding a bike!
Getting ready to unload at the trailhead.  Maizey is guarding the Fatties.

Here comes Mommy!

Lots of smells.

We were on Ann's trail, lots of other options to try next time.

Maizey running between me and Mommy making sure we're both still OK.

Shitty air.

Groomed and packed single track goodness.

Here comes the hound!

Looking to the North.

Looking to the West.

Mommy's bike now has 5" tires.  She said the difference is night and day.

Note the drifts.

Scrub oak serenity.

Mommy coming thru the woods.

Thin Air Cycles is using a snowmobile to groom the single track.  If you got offline, you would sink up to your hubs or knees!

Maizey leading the way.

Surly Bud tire was the perfect tire for the days snow.

At the top looking to the West.

Can you spot the houses?

I tried riding out across the meadow, no go!  Too deep!

A pic of the "couple that does things together." I'm so lucky that she loves to ride with me.

"Where's Mommy?"

Back at the trailhead.  The south facing slopes are melted off.

Trains on the brain!

This kid is obsessed with anything to do with trains!  I'm thinking an electric train set is going to have to happen this year...

An evening with great friends.

We hosted an impromptu dinner with Mark & Klara last night.  I made lasagne, Altair made homemade garlic bread and salad with homemade Italian dressing.  Since we hadn't seen the two of them since before Christmas, (I saw them Thursday) they brought Christmas gifts for us.  So unexpected and so nice!!
Skyler opening his "B is for bicycles" book written by former bike shop owners the Fitzgerald's.

I got a Silca hex wrench set!  Unbelievable!  Mark said this was for helping him out all year.  I don't feel that I did enough to deserve this though...

The cover of Skyler's book.
Mommy got some sweet socks.

A red letter day for sure!

There was a trip to the world's best bike shop, Saturday Cycles!
Hamming it up on the stairs.
After we got home, UPS delivered my new Apple watch!
This will be a life changer!

Green light!!

We got a walk in yesterday afternoon before the snow hit.  As always, Skyler has to watch for the green signal on the TRAX line.

Later, he waved to two trains and got them to honk back!  :)  Note the icicle in his hand, it was a pretend light saber.
