Day 5.

We headed to the Hill Aerospace Museum for our last day of Spring break on Friday.  Skyler pretty much covered the entire museum in 30 minutes!  After the museum, we met up with Mommy for lunch at McDonald's.  Skyler was thrilled!

Super excited to see the F-4!

Next to the C-124 Globemaster tire.  Big balloon tire!

Under the B-1B Lancer.

Lockheed Jetstar that once carried LBJ and Ladybird.

He was running to each plane outside.

C-130 landing above the mountains.

Time to go meet Mommy at McDonald's!

Chicken McNuggets, Mmm!

Happy Easter!

Mommy took Skyler to the library yesterday to return books and check out some new ones.  While they were there, he got to watch a puppet show, "Little Bunny Fru Fru".  Fru Fru probably was used due to copyright issues.  Anyway, it was rather memorable because later in the afternoon he put on the same puppet show for Mom and Me.

Library show.

Skyler's snow.  He stacked up pillows in the bathroom doorway for his stage.

He drew and cut out his "puppets"!

Bunny Fru Fru and the field mice.

Happy Birthday Mom!

We celebrated her birthday last weekend but today marks my Mom's actual birthday.  Thanks for everything you've taught me, and thanks for everything you do Mom.  I wouldn't be the person I am today without you.

Skyler and Grandma after seeing the movie "Trolls" last fall.  He loves spending time with Grandma and asks to go to her house almost every day.

Day 4.

We got a pretty good bike ride in yesterday despite the tornadic wind!  He is doing really well riding with me on the Parkway and he was even shifting gears.

After a pretty rough start complaining about how he couldn't do it because it was too windy, we were off.

He was pedaling so fast!

We passed a "wooly bear" caterpillar and he had to go back and rescue it.

Whew!  Skyler got the caterpillar to the side of the trail safe and sound.

He wanted to wait for a train to pass.

Counting down to train arrival...

Red signals...

We got a green!

Here it comes!

There it goes...

Day 3.

Day 3 involved a trip to the store to get supplies and Skyler got the 3rd Lego set to completed his Lego Batman Gotham Energy Works set.  Grandma and Grandpa spent the afternoon with him at Red Butte Garden.  No pics of the garden trip, but here's a few from earlier in the week.

We had to trim back this Apache Plume bush on Tuesday before we mowed the lawn.  Skyler raced inside to get his toy hedge trimmer.

Just like Dad!

He even set it down next to mine.  :)

He took this pic yesterday using my iPad while he was building his new set.  Point of View of a nearly 6 year old!

Day 2.

As mentioned yesterday, we headed out to Intermountain Bobcat since Skyler has been asking to stop there almost the entire school year.  He had a wonderful time and the parts man even shook his hand, put his name on the invoice for the toy, and gave him a hat! What great customer service!

Pure bliss!  The Bobcat in the background was sweeping the parking lot.

He got his wheeled Bobcat toy after waiting so long.  We stopped at Honnen equipment (the industrial Deere dealer)  after we stopped at Intermountain Bobcat.  Let's just say it was completely opposite when it came to customer service.  They suck!

Day 1.

We started off Skyler's Spring Break pretty good yesterday.  A trip to the John Deere dealer usually ends with a new toy and yesterday was no exception.  He picked a feller buncher toy and he hasn't stopped playing with it much ever since.  He finished out the afternoon at G&G's playing Lego with Grandpa.  Today, we are headed out to the Bobcat dealer since he's been asking to stop there on the way home from school for months.

First thing today, he wanted to watch a feller buncher on YouTube.  Note the toy in front of the keyboard.  He would position the toy in the same position as the machine in the video.

Easton's 6th birthday.

We attended Easton's 6th birthday party at "Get Air" a trampoline park yesterday.  We hadn't seen Easton for a  year(!) and it was fun to see everyone again.

Pizza from Marco's pizza.  Mmm!!

Time to sing Happy Birthday.

Back out on the trampolines.

Opening presents.  Easton got lots of Lego sets and Skyler gave him a cooking set and kids cookbook.

Haircut.

Skyler has been wanting a buzzcut for a while now.  Last night I made that happen with the help of Mommy.

He looks about 10 years older now!  It will be much cooler and more comfortable for summer.

Dose Friday at Saturday Cycles.

For the second week in a row, we've ventured down to Saturday Cycles to have a coffee from Dose SLC's coffee truck.  Their coffee is incredible and Skyler really loves the hot chocolate.  Mommy joined us yesterday and she agrees, the coffee is the bomb dot com!

Someone was super excited for his hot chocolate.  The barista was delighted by him.

Hot chocolate power!  He climbed the infamous stump all by himself.

After school tailgate apple.

Skyler wanted me to pick him up in my truck yesterday afternoon.  This meant he got to eat his apple on the tailgate.  It was fun to watch him observe what was happening after school in the parking lot.

It was 72 degrees and breezy.  Perfect!

Nature finds a way.

That great line from "Jurassic Park" certainly applies to our backyard.  After last Fall's picnic table failure, I moved the John Deere model A flywheel umbrella stand to the side of the patio.  I had forgotten that there was a fritillaria bulb that was right under the flywheel.  Yesterday, while cleaning up the backyard, I found this!

Growing right up the main tube and both flex holes of the flywheel!

The snack hill at school.

Nearly every day after school, Skyler has his snack on the hill next to where I park the car.  This week there has been an additional bonus, the crab apple tree is in bloom.

Monday was his favorite, graham crackers.

The tree smells amazing!  Skyler would agree.  :)

Trencher!!!

I got word that Whitney down the street had a trencher rented for the day yesterday.  After school, Skyler and I walked down to check it out.  Lucky for Skyler, she let him operate the trencher for a little while!

Pulling back on the control paddle.  He picked it up right away.

He was very focused!  Also, he was thrilled that the trencher ran on tracks instead of wheels.  :)

Nothing to see here...

Just Batman going grocery shopping!

Yes, he wore his new Batman costume with cape to the grocery store yesterday.  :)

A Spring day at the Nature Center.

We headed to the Redwood Nature Center yesterday so Skyler could get some much needed exercise on his Fat Bike.  Mommy rode her scooter that Santa brought her for Christmas.  :)

Off leash!

Here she comes!  We had to park North of where we normally do because the park that we would walk through was hosting a massive kids baseball game.

There they go!  I was on foot.

Gorgeous hawk in the tree.

Crime scene markers.  Note the blood stains.  The recovered a body in the bypass canal here last week! 😳

Gorgeous Spring day!  Look at the Oquirrh Mountains!

Beautiful.

They lapped me.

Ready for lap two!  They headed the opposite direction this time.
At the rendezvous point, no one wanted to do another lap.  :)

"I'm Batman!"

Skyler got a "Mystery Motivator" present from Mom & Dad for good behavior this week.  It was a Lego Batman costume.  He couldn't be any happier!

Pretty authentic!

It even included the Lego Minifigure claw hands.  :)
