School is fun!

Skyler exclaimed yesterday "I can't wait for school tomorrow!"  Today, they are having a pizza party where they will make pizzas in class since they have been "quiet"(?) for 2 weeks.

Fun in movement last week.

Building his Mt. Rushmore clay sculpture.  His companion bear is at his side.

I got some more pictures from Skyler's class' heart lesson from the other day.  Enjoy!

Pose for the camera.
A few minutes later...

Timeline.

Skyler's class rolled out a timeline that stretched the entire length of the school yesterday afternoon!

The "timeline of life".

A heart and lungs lesson.

Skyler gave Mommy and me a lesson about the heart and lungs last night.  He got to be hooked up to an EKG machine at school yesterday thanks to another student's Mom who's a nurse.

I hung a whiteboard in his room after school so he could show us what he learned.

Pointing to the parts of the brain.  Lungs, brain, and heart.

Monkey see, monkey do.

He got to ride his scooter as we walked.   :)

Serengeti trail system in Tooele County.

Taking advantage of the (still) unseasonably warm weather, we headed out to hike in the Western foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains in Tooele County yesterday morning.  We initially were headed up Bates Canyon but upon seeing the shoreline of Lake Bonneville, we set out in that direction instead.  Skyler's day was complete at the end of our hike with the passing of a Union Pacific freight train.  Added bonus; we got to see a Ford Focus RS on the way home.

At the trailhead.
He was not happy to start.
Climbing. Look at that view, it's about to get much better!
Doing a little better.
Off leash.  You can see the shoreline off in the distance.  That's where we will end up.
Now he was happy.
Climbing up the STEEP sandy section.
Stansbury Island.
On the "beach" of the old Lake Bonneville.
Farnsworth Peak named after Philo T. Farnsworth the inventor of the television.
This was a sweet little road along the shoreline.
Sunrise over the Oquirrh's.
We startled about 2 dozen deer in this little canyon.
Running deer in the middle of the canyon.
Up they go!
More of the deer.
Deer on the other side of the canyon.
The "crew".
Deer at the top.
Over they go.
Our little hiking trooper.
Family selfie with some homeless guy...
Yet more deer.
We could see all the way to Promontory!
Stansbury Mountain range.
Holly bush.
It was huge!
Deer spine.
TRAIN!!!!!!!!!
He was moving!
He made it down just as the lead locomotive hit the crossing.
Pretty happy that he got to see the train.
Looks like the rail grinder has been working along this line.

Learning about the "super blood moon" and the human body.

We missed the moon here at our house due to clouds but Skyler studied it in class yesterday.  He also brought home an illustrated human skeleton that he made in class.

Learning about the moon with Ms. Laura.  Skyler is not in the photo.
Working hard on the skeleton.
