Friday we headed over to the harbor to catch our ride out to Anacapa Island.  There's lots of money docked at the harbor!

Vacation, day 1. The adventure begins!

Taking advantage of Fall break, we ventured down to Ventura County California.  I hadn't been to California in 30 years and it was even more delightful as an adult then when I was 12.  Skyler had a wonderful (if not over-stimulating) time, and we can't wait to go back.  I'll be posting lots more pictures in the coming days.

This was fun!  Our car decided to shift into reverse at 85 miles an hour 100 miles into the drive.  Everyone piled into G&G's car after a 3 hour delay.  They rode like this for 120 miles!

My Mom took us out to California the past few days (hence the missed days of posting).  It was her wish to visit the Channel Islands and I'm really glad we got to experience it with her.  What a wonderful trip!  Thank you for everything Mom (and Dad!), I love you.

Square Pumpkin!

Skyler saw the commercial for "Arctic Circle's Square Pumpkin" the other day and asked me what that was.  I told him about getting them as a kid sometimes when I visited my Grandma at her apartment.  Well, he hadn't stopped asking for one so we headed over to "Arctic Circle" after the movie on Saturday and he got his wish.

Pretty happy!  He got the LED flashlight that he wanted inside as seen on TV.  :)

French Toast on Saturday morning.

Skyler has been asking for French Toast for a while now.  He asked to help make it this morning so we got to it.  He mixed up the egg wash, and flipped the pieces on what he calls "the French toast cooker" aka, the griddle.

Harvest time.

Skyler got to harvest his pumpkins he planted way back in April.  It's been a great year for the garden!  If we make it past this week's cold spell, it looks like we could still have a garden all the way into November according to the long range weather forecast!

Education Galaxy.

Ms. Emily snapped this picture of Skyler yesterday while he was working on the computers in class.  Education Galaxy is an online reading site that he likes so much, he asks to work on it at home.

Headphones required for quiet learning in class.  I don't understand how he can be quite while on a computer, but it must be possible!

Skyler leveled up in swimming last week!  He's getting pretty good, fingers crossed we get to put his swim skills to the test in the ocean in a couple of weeks!

Mommy had a security conference in Provo all last week.  We rode the Front Runner down to meet up with her on Wednesday evening for their "family activities" night.  Skyler got to solder a board that plays the them from "Mario Brothers" and lights up.
