Playing downstairs.

Mommy had a conference call from home yesterday morning.  While she was doing that, Skyler and I headed downstairs to play with the kinetic sand.  This kept him from interrupting Mommy while she worked.  :)

Still entertaining after a few months.  Later, we headed outside and I tilled (in February!) his play area.

More bucket fun!

He wanted to see the excavator again yesterday so we walked down in the afternoon.  It wasn't running though...  :(
The consolation prize, getting to sit in the bucket.

It's a newer Cat 320D. Still the wrong brand but much better than a Kobelco!

Entirely true!

Comparison of psychedelic drugs to children's television.
Not having ever done any drugs I can't verify this, but there's enough TV shows out there that I know the last bar is correct.

A helicopter and new glasses!

I had an eye appointment last Friday so I could get some new glasses.  They weren't supposed to be done until the end of the week but I got a call yesterday to say they were ready.  Skyler and I headed over and as we were parking we saw this!
Blackhawk helicopter hovering with a man below!
We watched the helicopter (hover the entire time, good pilot) for 10 minutes or so and went in to get my glasses.

I think this is the first pair of glasses in my 35+ years of wearing them that I actually am excited to wear.  I love them!

At the jobsite.

He wanted to play on the "huge piles of dirt".
He climbed up wearing flip flops and holding his drink.

Continuing the animal theme...

Yesterday the cat was acting a bit off...

Staring outside...

Sleeping next to the dog on our bed...

Sleeping in the dog's bed!!  He's fine today, I was a bit worried he wasn't feeling well.

Maizey got a bath in the 70 degree weather and then sat on my lap while we enjoyed the weather.

Bike time.

At least for Skyler anyway.  (I'm still not feeling 100%, today it's a cough and scratchy throat, yay!)  We took advantage of yesterday's 65 degree weather and headed to the Parkway so he could ride his bike  and the dog could get some exercise.

The city had just installed this new sign.  Guess I won't be camping here now, damn!  :)

Getting ready to ditch Daddy.

Off he goes!

Hot rail!

Wave to the operator.  The operator (I refuse to call the silly TRAX train driver an engineer) honked the horn for Skyler.
Waving again.  No horn this time.

He asked earlier why the train horn sounds funny.  I replied that it's not an air horn like a real train.

Lots of ducks!

I haven't seen so many of the little black ducks at once.

He earned it!

We made a promise to Skyler a few weeks ago that if he stops getting us up in the night and having Mommy lay next to him until he fell asleep at bedtime, he would get a present.  He specifically asked for a "Bruder rear loader garbage truck".  I'm happy to say that we were able to order it on Monday, and it showed up here yesterday.  He no longer needs anyone to sleep in his room with him!

Typical Skyler fashion, the box is equally as entertaining as the toy.

So is the box that the toy was shipped in!

Skyler fireman!

Mommy picked up this little fire helmet over the weekend.  He wore it all day yesterday.
He even wanted to wear it on our walk!

This is February?

We went for a walk yesterday in the 50 degree weather.  This has to be the mildest Utah winter that I can ever remember.
Twinky little river.

Happy little boy.

Alphabet time.

Skyler is learning to write pretty good now thanks to the magic iPad.
Practicing while Mommy and I watched a show last night.

A screen shot of his traced alphabet.

12 hours of Legos.

Skyler got a new Lego set Wednesday afternoon.  Thursday, he got up at 7:00 and played with them for 12 hours!
Hard to see, but the little grapple is well over 40 years old.  Old meets new.

"This isn't right!"

If it's sunny, I usually open the front door so Eddy cat can sit in the sun and look out front.  Yesterday he was doing just that when I started hearing "meow, grr, meooerow".  I walk over and Eddy had a friend!  Not sure where the friend came from, but the friend didn't want to leave until Maizey dog came to the door to investigate!  The rest of the day Eddy was on "point" looking for kitties.

"Hi there!"

Surprised face!  Friend kitty had a collar on.  Too bad it was too long, notice the end has been dragging?

Cat standoff.

Friend kitty must have been young, or a really small female.  Eddy is much bigger and he's not even that big of a cat.

"He's in my chair!"

Said Skyler when Eddy cat hopped up.  Still trying to work on sharing.  Sigh...

He was going to sit down and push Eddy out.

I asked him if Eddy could share.  "I guess so" was his reply.

All that remains of a Mourning Dove after the Sharp Shinned hawk gets it.  Our bird feeder works in two ways!

"Let's go see the excavator!"

They're getting ready to dig another foundation down the street and that means using an excavator.  This will be the 5th house under construction, amazing that there's that much demand.
Wrong brand, but he was still excited.

Obligatory bucket shot.

Truck wash.

I managed to get my truck washed yesterday while Skyler rode his tricycle around the garage and driveway.

He was so happy (as was I) to be outside enjoying 51 degree weather!

Round Valley Version 2.0

Skyler got dropped off at Grandma & Grandpa's yesterday morning so Mommy and I could go ride our Fat Bikes.  Epic!  We had a great time and Maizey dog did too.  Lots of calories burned, this is definitely a high exertion sport!
Beautiful day!

Hawk mark in the snow.  Presumably where a mouse met his demise.

"Land of OZ" XC track.  This was fun and quite the workout.

Mommy enjoying "The land of OZ".  Land of OZ is named after the Osguthorpe family of Park City.  We were riding in one of their hay fields.
So another Fat Biker took this photo of Maizey and me and posted it to the Fat Bike Utah Facebook page!  How cool!?
What happens after 4 hours at G & G's?

Total collapse into sleep!  He was playing and eating a piece of cheese and boom!  He slept for 2.5 hours.
