A Lego Batman play date.

Skyler invited Artemis over to watch "The Lego Batman movie" last night.  This worked out pretty great since her Mommy had a Karate class to attend.  On the other hand, I'm not sure how much more Lego Batman I can handle in one week...

She even joined us for dinner.  Homemade spaghetti!

We continue to have Batman on the brain at our place.  This is especially strong since the "Lego Batman Movie" was released on digital this past Friday and we got to re-watch it over the weekend.  Last night was no exception, Skyler put on his Lego Batman PJ's after swim lessons and saved the world.  Or at least the school parking lot!

2017 garden.

Skyler helped Mommy plant the majority of the garden yesterday.  He was in charge of filling the watering can and watering all the transplanted starts.

He loves to help!

Skyler and Artemis.

We've been having to wait until Artemis is leaving school for us to leave lately.  Skyler opens doors for her and even said "after you, my lady" this past Wednesday when Artemis came over for another play date.  :)

At his annual pediatrician appointment Thursday, they said he's as tall as a seven and a half year old.  That's how old Artemis is and Skyler is taller!  😳

4 years ago today!

At the neighborhood park.  I remember this like it was yesterday.  :(

What the...???!!!

I can't believe I'm typing this, but it snowed here last night!  May 17th!

Last night.  We had to cover the potatoes and other veggies that were already growing.

12 hours later!  We knocked as much snow off the trees as we could this morning.  (insert grawlix here!)

Mother's Day Parkway walk.

We got our Sunday walk in on the Parkway late in the afternoon.  We haven't been down to our usual stretch of Parkway for about 6 weeks due to the damn road construction leading to the trailhead.  The wet Spring has made for an incredibly green experience!

So green!  For some strange reason, the City has been mowing the Parkway instead of the actual City Parks.  

Mother's Day at Red Butte.

My Mom invited us up to Red Butte Garden (where she volunteers) to celebrate Mother's Day.  We all had a wonderful time and the garden was gorgeous!

Happy 6th Mother's Day!

To Mommy!

I gave Mommy this rose on her first Mother's Day 6 years ago.  Look at it today!

 It's my Mom's 40th(!) Mother's Day too.  Happy Mother's Day Mom!

I had these flowers delivered to my Mom for Mother's Day.

No more Kid Cuisine.

Mommy made it home safe and sound yesterday.  That meant back to the normal routine and the end of frozen meals.  It was nice to have a break from me having to cook every night but it was also nice to have everyone sit down to dinner last night.  It was even nicer to not have dinner come from a box!  Skyler would disagree however...

Probably the main reason he likes the frozen "Kid Cuisine" meals is that there is alway a sugary dessert.  This meal was a cheeseburger with fries and corn.  Fruit snacks were an added bonus!

After Artemis left Wednesday, it was time for his bath.  He turned the jets on and had a plethora of bubbles to play in!

As I was picking up Skyler from school last night, I rans into Artemis' Dad.  He is a U.S. Marine Veteran and had just returned from a Veteran's job fair in Salt Lake.  One of the other teachers mentioned that he looked so nice in his suit that he should take his wife out to dinner.  Some mumblings about not having a babysitter and I volunteered to watch Artemis so her parents could go on a dinner "date".  Of course, Skyler was thrilled to have Artemis come over to play, watch "Inside Out" and go to the park together.

Watching "Inside Out" and eating popcorn and drinking juice boxes.  They had 2 bags of JD popcorn and each drank 4 juice boxes!

After the movie we headed to the park.  Take note that Skyler can now reach he hanging spinning thing!

She would try and stop him from sliding down and they both were screaming with delight.

Taking a break.  We walked back shortly after this and ran into her parents as we topped the street.  Perfect timing.

Skyler has been enjoying some frozen "Kid Cuisine" meals this week since Mommy is out of town.  Some of the meals have themes and Monday's was a Disney "Frozen" theme.  There was a princess crown that you could cut out, color, and wear.  Skyler did just that!

"I can do it all on my own."

That's what he said yesterday morning when he wanted a toasted bagel with cream cheese.   He did everything, got the bagel out, placed it in the toaster, toasted it, and spread the cream cheese.  All by himself!

He did it again today too!

A Lego day.

Skyler and I spent much of yesterday playing with and building Lego sets that he got for his birthday last week.  When he finds something that he likes, he doesn't want to stop!

We just got back from dropping Mommy off at the airport this morning.  :(  Skyler took it much better this time but he was still sad.  Here's a pic of Maizey from the other night to cheer us up.
