3.8 million pound rock crusher move!

Thanks to some inside sources, I have these pics to share of the Rio Tinto Kennecott in pit rock crusher move to the 6,190' level of the mine.

They used a pair of crawlers to pick it up and move it.  The 30' wide road had a flatness tolerance of just 3/8"!

Once it was moving, it was a nonstop event.

Close to the final placement.  They had numerous breakdowns on the crawlers I'm told.

Home sweet home!  This is part of a new conveyor system that will replace and existing conveyor and eliminates an old rail tunnel that is failing.
