Movie Monday.

Around 20 years ago, a movie called "Tread" came out.  It was about biking in Moab.  It was my favorite film.  I watched it over and over.  This is almost as good.  It's called "Cold Rolled" and stars Fat Bikes.  Enjoy!

Cold Rolled.

Sometime this winter, I hope to actually be able to ride my Fat bike in the snow.  Both Altair and I have viral respiratory infections.  She went into instacare yesterday to confirm what I already knew.  This stuff lasts 3 weeks!!  I'm on my last week.  Everyone cross their fingers that Skyler doesn't get sick.

Its been a rough couple of weeks.  Illness, holiday stress, and mommy having to go back to work.  Skyler has been especially difficult this week too.  I must remind myself that he's not doing naughty things to be naughty, he's just being a toddler.  I need to think of the moments like this and just be glad to have him in my life. :)

A big thanks to my Mom for supplying Eddy cat his cat grass.  He's obsessed with it and probably would consume the entire bunch if I would let him.

Skyler and I made chocolate chip cookies yesterday.  He wanted "Christmas cookies" so he stamped the top of the dough in the pan with a tree shaped cookie cutter.

We all took a walk on the Jordan River Parkway yesterday.  It was a lovely day and everyone was glad to be outside and get some exercise and fresh air.

Skyler got to go sledding at the park with Mommy yesterday.  I'm still trying to get over this damn flu bug so I stayed home. :(

Happy Birthday little Sister!!

Today is my only sibling's birthday.  I've always called her my "little sister" after hearing Sally on "Peanuts" call Charlie Brown "big brother." :)  She's been in my life for 34 years now, she has taught me to appreciate the finer things in life, to understand and write better, (I still have issues with commas and apostrophes), to be compassionate to others, and is the one I can lean on when I need a lecture or advice.  Happy Birthday Karen!!!

This is why I refuse to ski.

The seven time F1 champion Michael Schumacher suffered a severe brain injury while skiing Sunday.  He was wearing a helmet, but took a direct hit to his head.  Had he not been wearing a helmet, he would be dead.  He's still not in the clear, doctors performed another surgery last night to relieve more swelling on his brain.  Everyone please have a good thought and wish for a full recovery.

He's pretty much my only sports idol(thanks Lance).  I followed his career since 1992 when he drove for Bennetton.

That is what he said as he laid out his ginger bread cookies the other day. :)

I have the flu.  It's awful!  I haven't been this sick in ten years.  Fortunately, I have Maizey dog to keep me company.  She's been at my side for 24 hours now.  How do animals know when we are not well?

Skyler had an awesome Christmas!!  He's still trying to absorb all of yesterday's festivities and excitement.  Big thanks to Grandma & Grandpa for spoiling him (and the rest of us) so well.

I built up a 29er for Altair.  Salsa Mamasita to be exact.  It's a clone to the one I built in July for me.

Skyler got a Thomas all around Sodor train.  And the combine.  And the JD action figure firefighter.

Grandpa got a red nose gag gift and Skyler thought it was great!
