A hike to Natural Bridge.

What a neat hike!  The bay nearby is named "Bridge Bay" after the natural bridge.

Lake Yellowstone Hotel dinner.

We had reservations for dinner at 8:15.  We ordered and our food finally made it out at 9:30.  Dinner was rather tasty, but the room was entirely too loud.

I had the N.Y. strip.

Skyler had the halibut.

Mommy had the sweet pea ravioli.

Lake Yellowstone boat ride.

What a lovely afternoon/evening!

Our campsite in the park.

A neighbor.

1960's vintage marina building and ranger shack.

Pier.

On the boat.

The boat could get up and move!  I estimated we were doing 20+ mph.
Powered by twin Volvo Penta diesel engines.

Remnants of a steam ship.

The island.
Apparently, a pair of male elk swam out to the island one summer and swam back in the fall.

75!

Grandpa (Dad) turns 75 today!  Think of how many firsts have happened during his life!  Rockets, landing on the moon, cell phones, the internet, color television, and many others.  Happy Birthday Dad!  We're so lucky to have you live so close and so lucky for Skyler to call you his Grandpa.

Lunch at Mammoth.

One thing about having a motorhome, it's also a kitchen on wheels!

Kitchen on wheels on the way to Mammoth.

Homemade lunch.

Mammoth.

Happy camper!

What a lovely place to eat!

The picture(s) that nearly made the entire trip!

I wanted to get a pic of the motorhome next to one of the Park snow coaches.  They're both Ford E-Series chassis but that's where the similarities stop.

HOLY COW!!

E-350 just like ours!

One Skyler for scale.

There was an even bigger F-550 across the road!

Tire size!

Looking across the hood of ours and up at the snow coach.

They put regular sized tires on a few and were using them in the park.  It's still tall.

The Buffalo Bar and Grill in West Yellowstone.

5 stars!  I highly recommend the place.  Incredible service, food, and patio atmosphere.  Menu here.

I had the bison chicken fried steak with red mashed potatoes and country gravy.  I'm not kidding when I say this, it was the absolute best chicken fried steak I've ever had in my life to this day!

Skyler had the bison meatloaf.  It too was delicious.

Mommy had the twisted BAT.  Bacon Arugula Tomato.

20th anniversary Yellowstone trip!

August 10th marked our 20th wedding anniversary.  We made campground reservations over a year ago to be able to stay in the park in our motorhome.  It was amazing.

3 straw lemonade!

Rocket ranch open house.

WOW!!!

Recently fired 5 segment SLS booster.

Electric actuators for thrust vectoring now.

Nozzle.  It's made of carbon carbon and glows during the test.

Big!

One Skyler for scale.

Airbrushing.

He's still a little apprehensive when using the airbrush.  Practice, practice, practice, is what I tell him.

Spraying some Tamiya paint on his tank accessories.

More models!

Skyler has been working hard on this model of an M1A2 Abrams tank by Tamiya.  We worked on priming and painting it yesterday.  It's really turned out nice.

We used Tamiya spray paints.  They can be rather nasty.  He automatically put his N95 on.

Home.

I'm happy to report that everyone made it home safe last night. Skyler was SO happy to be home!

A week.

Skyler and Mommy have been gone a week visiting Victoria British Columbia.  It's been really quiet around here but they are flying home tonight.

Their plane going over the house last Monday.
Onboard the plane.

A LAX airport on their layover.

Right seat in the De Havilland Otter.
At the seaplane base in Kenmore Washington.
