Indoor picnic.

It was a little too chilly yesterday morning to have an outdoor picnic so we improvised & he had one on the floor inside.

The best Father's Day present ever!

SKYLER POOPED IN THE TOILET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We worked on him all day yesterday and finally in the afternoon, he did it!!!  He was so proud and excited!  (As were we.)  He got to have a Drumstick ice cream cone and we applauded him the rest of the day.  And as I am typing this, he just pooped his pants....  Sigh...
On a happier note, Maizey dog likes the hammock too!

Cheese & crackers.

Skyler enjoying some Ritz cheese and crackers snacks in the garden last night.  He's rather pleased with the new chair that Grandma gave him.

Remember these?  The crackers come with a little red plastic stick that you never used to spread the cheese, just use it to shovel in the cheese and eat the crackers separately.

SO good!
See? Now he's just eating the crackers.  Note his lemonade in the frosty mug.

Can I just do this all day?!

I've been extra tired this week & don't know why.  Skyler has the right idea, NAPS!!

"Here kitty, kitty..."

Eddy cat has been warming up to Skyler a lot more as of late.  I think it's because Skyler has stopped trying to kill him by attempting to squeeze him every time he sees Eddy cat.  Last night, Eddy even came over to Skyler from across the yard and joined him on the park bench.
Waiting...

Closer...

Hi kitty! "He's tickling me!"  Skyler said.

That's all.

Picnic time.

Skyler took full advantage of the new Tommy Bahama umbrella from Costco this past weekend.
Making a face while enjoying a home made smoothie.

Better, but still kinda making a face.

"Daddy, can you come over here?"  I had to sit in the shade with him after he called me over.  :)

New fire pit fun!

We picked up a new Flame Genie fire pit on Saturday.  We got to use it that night to toast marshmallows.  Skyler was thrilled as you can see.
Someone was really excited to have a fire!

"Here's my marshmallows!"
Making a face for the camera.

Oooh!

Ahhh!

We switched from big marshmallows after this shot to small marshmallows.  We didn't want him to get a tummy ache.
All done.

The biggest and best day of his life.

We took Skyler to Lagoon yesterday.  The temperature was perfect, there weren't many people, and the place was really clean.  I figured we would only make it a couple of hours due to a meltdown or him getting tired but, we stayed a little over 4 hours!  Skyler never got scared on any of the rides and overall listened and behaved really well.  His new incentive for potty training is getting to go back to Lagoon.  I'm sure we will have to go back regardless of potty training and next time bring Grandma & Grandpa so I can ride some rides.
The whale ride was his first ride.

Red Barron was his next.
Look at the beautiful clouds with the green hills!

Driving the electric car.

This melted my heart just a bit.  Seeing that tiny little body driving away reminded me how fast he's growing up. :(
Look at that face!

I loved this ride 35 years ago and I still love it today.  Great re-creation of a '50's service station.

All done!
1950's goodness.
Time for a helicopter ride.

He pulled his bar in and was the only kid flying high.
The 120 year old carousel still delights.
"Wave to Daddy!"
Splash! It was time for lunch.

Lunch consisted of fire roasted corn on the cob with french fries.  I had a delicious bacon cheeseburger.  We ate on the terrace by the log flume.

We even had a lunch companion!  A peacock!

Getting ready to ride the octopus.

"Wave to Daddy!"

The view from the giant Ferris wheel.  Can you spot the JD 620 tractor?  I wonder if Lagoon wants to sell it to me?

Back to the car, ice cream time!

"So good Daddy!"
We (Altair and I) had a great time.  I never really stopped to notice all the behind the scenes action and beauty of Lagoon.  I always just rushed to ride every ride.  The place is really nice with immaculate landscaping and loads of history.  Having a little kid makes you remember being a little kid and brings back all kinds of great memories.

Shopping.

We made a quick trip to the grocery store yesterday.  Skyler got to use his own Niner sized cart!
"Whee!"

It was hard to steer him or point him in the right direction without getting your ankles taken off!

A bike day.

Skyler and I headed to Saturday Cycles yesterday morning to drop of my new 29er Surly Rabbit hole rims and Salsa blue annodized hubs to be built up for my Father's Day present.  We made a quick stop to see Grandma at her work, then he had a nap.  Mommy came home and we headed up to North Salt Lake's Wild Rose Park for the Salsa Cycles demo day!  I rode a carbon Beargrease Fat Bike and a full suspension Horsethief.  The Beargrease climbed like a homesick angel!  The full suspension Horsethief took some getting used to.  I didn't care for the way it climbed, but fell in love with the way it rode on the downhill. I can't wait to try Salsa's new full suspension Fat Bike the Bucksaw!  Altair rode a Horsethief and an El Mariachi.  She liked the Horsethief over the El Mariachi.  Skyler entertained everyone with his typical antics including the owner of Saturday Cycles, Mark.  Mark suggested to everyone to bring salsa to the Salsa demo event so we brought a few bottles of our home made salsa.  Everyone went crazy for it!  We got home around 8:30 and I made home made rice pilaf and BBQ'd a London Broil for dinner.  It was an awesome evening!
Skyler on the stump at Saturday Cycles.

The view from the playground to the Salsa tents.

Time to pack up $100k worth of bikes!

Someone even has their own OBSERVATORY in their backyard!!
