Earth Day hike.

Up Rattlesnake Gulch to Pipeline trail overlook.  We turned around just as the wind picked up.  Afterwards, we headed to Saturday Cycles and enjoyed some Crown Burger with Mark.  :)

Mommy wrangling the kid.

And, we're off!

Hound dog got to come along too.

Just a little snow left.

Switchback view of Mommy and Skyler from above.

It's a steep hike but I'm proud to say that Skyler hiked the entire 2.3 miles all by himself, no carrying him!

Pipeline single track goodness.

She always runs ahead and comes back to check on us.

A remnant of the pipeline that ran along here.  It's a metal elbow used in the corners where the wood pipe couldn't take the pressure from the direction change.  It's a riveted piece, not welded.

Looking East toward the overlook.

Here they come!

Where we started, the road down below.

Holding his pants up and running to catch me.

Made it to the first overlook, it became too windy and dangerous to get to the second overlook.

Family portrait.  It was windy!

Indian paintbrush blooming already.

Note the deer leg on the roof!

Hot doggy needed to cool in the river across the road.

Laying in the cold water.

Having a drink.

Feels so good!

Better move downstream.

Time to get out, she actually got a cramp in her front leg from the cold water!

Yes, it was as good as it looks, double cheeseburger with fries.  We ate outside under the shop peach tree.  Mark even came out and joined us.

Using his tools, a fish, and some goslings.

We all needed to get some exercise and fresh air last night.  To the Parkway for a walk!

Examining where a backpack fire occurred.

"I better use my tools!"

After a thorough investigation, he folded up his "tools".

Giant Carp swimming below the bridge.

5 goslings on the island!

"I love my school!"

Says Skyler every time we go to school.  The saltwater aquarium is just an added bonus!

Tractor time.

Skyler and I mowed the lawn, cleaned out sheds (vacuumed!), and rearranged tractors yesterday.  He was so happy to be outside and helping out.
The '65 110.  Hard to believe this is 50 years old!

The happiest (and luckiest) little boy in the world!

Ham it up!

He found this little flag in my toolbox and had to have his own parade.

There was singing and dancing while parading around the pump track.

Doesn't get any better than this, John Deere shirt, 3 tractors, and the American Flag!

New discoveries.

We walked along a section of the Parkway that we've never been on yesterday.  It was full of surprises!
Woodpecker.

Fire remnants.

One happy little boy!

We were now on the West bank of the river and got to see things we normally don't see like this eroded river bank.

Into the woods!

Throwing rocks.

See the rock...

Throw the rock!!

This was wild.  Horses crossing the Jordan River!

Right on through!

Deeper than it looked.

Safely across.

Taking a break on the new section of parkway trail.

Hard to see, but the horses were back in the water.
