Movie Night.

Mommy had to be in Ogden for her sister's birthday last night so Skyler and I watched the movie "Woody" on Netflix.  He enjoyed it, I'll just say save your time and watch something else.

We built Pop-a-Dumpty and Humpty Dumpty out of a balloon and plastic egg.  They joined us for the movie as well.

Eddy Cat.

Skyler painted this lovely picture of Eddy Cat last week in school.

We were going to frame it but, he decided to write "eddy" on it with pen after he brought it home.  :(

Ready for summer!

We purchased some patio lights from Costco on Friday.  I hung them Monday.  Altair wanted to try them out after the sun started to set and we were both thrilled!  We can't wait for warm Summer evenings on the patio now.

Very Southern California/1950's feel.

Drone!

Skyler and I got a drone!  This transpired after Tricia brought him a small radio control helicopter.  Unfortunately, the helicopter had an assembly problem and the gear kept slipping on the shaft.  Jimmy fixed it numerous times but I decided to splurge for a small drone.  It arrived Sunday afternoon and we got started flying it.  He's picking it up rather well, last night after school he flew it without incident!

Hovering.

Maneuvering around the room.

Swing!

We stopped at Grandma & Grandpa's to check on Grandma yesterday.  While we were there, Skyler headed out back quietly and I found him trying to swing by himself and attempting to pump his legs.  I helped him out by pushing him a while.

"Whee!"

Grandpa really did a great job setting up this swing, look how far  Skyler goes!

A trip to the Natural History Museum.

Otto invited Skyler to the Natural History Museum yesterday afternoon.  He was joined by Jimmy and Tricia along with Maxwell from school.  I opted to stay home and missed out on any pandemonium.

Otto and Skyler exploring seismology and building simulation.

Snowflakes.

Everyone's hands on the heat sensitive material.

Results of their hands on the heat sensitive material.

Doing a fossil rubbing.

Standing in possibly a duckbill dinosaur footprint.

The view across the Salt Lake Valley was beautiful.

Wonder where he gets it?

Reading "Trains" magazine during dinner the other night.  I too am guilty of reading a magazine while eating.  Pretty sure I got it from my Uncle in Nebraska.  :)

Hi did manage to finish his chicken dinner while reading though.  I'll take it!

Circle time.

Reading Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax" and learning about natural resources.

Easter.

Skyler had an especially great Easter this year.  We all did, my family came over to our house for Easter Dinner.

Easter basked loaded with sweets and treats.
Dr. Seuss book too.
The Easter Bunny left a note.
Eating some candy.  He probably ate his weight in sugar that day.
Table all set for dinner.
Easter round 2, Grandma & Grandpa gave him another Easter basket.
Lego!
We enjoyed some strawberry pie that Grandma made on the patio.

Rocket adventure day, part 4.

We finished out the day by driving along the original Transcontinental Railway roadbed.

Entering a cut.  This was all hand dug using pick axes and shovels.
A fill portion.
A trestle once stood here.
Detail of the trestle bed.
Chinese Arch.  Named for the numerous Chinese workers who helped build the railroad.

Another shot of Chinese Arch.

Rocket adventure day, part 3.

We continue our adventure at the Great Salt Lake.

Electric light.

Someone dropped their apple.
"Island" hopping.

The girls and Aurora the dog.

Almost lunar landscape.

Skyler pulled his overalls up to wade in the water.

Pelican bone. (!)

The kids playing in the water.

Great lighting.

Why do the kids love to wade in puddles?

Even though it looks ocean like, the water is only inches deep.

Brine shrimp.

In the bed of my truck.  His "secret cave".

Arianna and Harper got to be "stuck" where Artemis was truly stuck.

Look a the reflections!

Enjoying a "delicious" apple from Arianna's Mom.

Aurora and Artemis.

Mini Jetty!

Weird algae.

Reflections.

Surreal.

Skyler and Artemis.

Clear water with dog prints.

Bird remains.

Skyler Jetty!

Old foundation near the parking area.

The children.

Having some snacks.

The sisters moved this piece of wood from the lake to the shore.

Perspective.
I ran out of time and bandwidth for the Transcontinental Railroad pics today.  Tomorrow...
