Final countdown.

To the end of the neighbor's turkeys!

My opinion is they aren't big enough to harvest just yet.  Each bird is only 14-15 pounds he told me.

Pump!
"Whee!"

Learning about civilizations and working on timelines in class last week.

Mail order map.

Skyler has been enjoying these bear yo yo snacks lately.  Inside they have an informative card featuring a country from around the world.  If you sent in 10 snack wrappers, you would receive a free map in the mail.  Skyler did just that and got his map this week!

It came with stickers for the country cards he has collected already.  Still lots of spaces to fill in!

Owl!

I spotted this owl in daylight last week and again yesterday.

I followed it over to this Russian Olive tree.

"Come play with us Danny."

Or Skyler instead of Danny from "The Shining".

Playing on "TheOverlook Hotel" carpet themed blanket.  He did this all on his own after seeing the movie earlier this year. I really want to find carpet like this for the house now!

Transit of Mercury.

We took my welding helmet along to school yesterday in hopes of seeing Mercury cross the sun.  Too faint!  We needed a solar telescope or binoculars with solar lenses in order to see Mercury.

He claimed to be able to see it but I could not.

John Henry.

Swing that hammer!

Not sure why he's digging a hole but this was the weekend entertainment in the yard.

Too big, yet still delights!

Remember when Skyler got this?  Just about like anything else in the family, we still have it!  He brought it upstairs yesterday and attempted to drive it even though he's WAY too big for it now!

Zoning in on whatever was on T.V. yesterday.

Antica Forma.

We found quite possibly the best Italian place we're ever eaten at in Vernal last month.  Antica Forma

Wow!  It was incredible!

Mommy and I shared the signature dish, the Antica Forma pizza.
Skyler had a pepperoni pizza.
He also had the mozzarella sticks made with house made mozzarella!
The fresh baked garlic bread was divine.
Not pictured because I forgot to take a picture, we got the very last piece of peach cheesecake for the season!  Made from the owner's own peaches from his peach tree!

Second Junior Ranger Badge!

Skyler got his "Junior Paleontologist" badge at Dinosaur National Monument last month.  He even got a Jr. Ranger vest!

Taking the Junior Ranger pledge to protect the Monument.
Sporting his new vest before we headed to dinner across the street.

An evening on the patio!

It  was nice enough outside Saturday evening that we decided to watch Svengoolie on the patio with a cozy fire.  Skyler started celebrating a little early and watched "Nature Cat" and "Molli of Denali" while he rode his bike.

Taking a break from riding to watch a little "Nature Cat".

Molli of Denali.

Dinner on the patio!
Now we're cooking!
Enjoying "The Invisible Man".
Taking forever to eat...

Even the dog was enjoying the fire on her bed.
Mommy had a good time too.
