Skyler's first day of Fall break was pretty good.  We went and watched some trains.

He did this for nearly an hour!

Fieldtrip!!

After 6 years in school, Skyler finally got to go on his first field trip yesterday!  They all met at the TRAX station and rode the train downtown to the Children's Museum for a visit to "biz town" to practice having a real job.

Last night's was homemade chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn.

Skyler's morning glory.

He started these late in the summer in the greenhouse.  They really took off and he watered them every afternoon.  Last night's 26 degree temperature did them in I'm sad to report.

The dog goes bananas anytime she sees one on our walks.

A quick trip to Delta yesterday and we had an incredible lunch from Ashton's Burger Bar.

Great Basin is an "international dark sky park." This is great for looking at the stars.  They host a star party on Thursdays and Saturdays after dark.  It was epic!

We enjoyed some natural air conditioning by Lehman Creek before dinner.

Even though it was only 2 night away, it was a much needed break and an incredible mini vacation.  We're definitely going back!

Skyler completed another Junior Ranger packet while we were at Great Basin.

The drought is very real still.  This lake was nearly empty.
