Lofty Lake Loop.

Or also called desolation destination!  We drove up into the Uintas to meet up with my Sister to hike on Tuesday.  She had hiked this trail last year and it looked pretty sweet.  It was!  However, it was a little long and desolate at times.  The Uintas are an unforgiving place, it's crazy to see how fast weather can move in, at one point, I was actually cold!  In July!

We ended up at Kamas lake, 4 miles round trip felt like 10!

Ready!  Bald Mountain in the background.
Gorgeous!

We're off!
Green!

Woody!

We would eventually climb out of the lush meadowlands.
More meadow.

Bald Mountain.

Snack time.

Mosquito farm.  The bugs were bad!

Makes one want to mow, doesn't it?

Elevation 10,200 feet.  It was a little difficult getting enough air at times.
"Chucky squirrel??!!"  She was on point most of the day looking for critters.
Our first lake in sight!
Time for another snack while the dog cools off in the water.
Relaxing.

A woman told us that there were mountain goats along one of the ridges, we never saw any though.  :(

Beautiful!
More tomorrow.
