Maizey dog!

Poor Maizey came down with an ear infection earlier this week.  I took her in to the vet on Tuesday and he prescribed some ear drops to treat her ear with.  She's doing quite a bit better as of last night, fingers are crossed for a full recovery.

This was the day after Christmas.

Powdery goodness.

Quite possibly the best photo ever taken of her!

Lego Land.

Christmas brought more new Lego sets to Skyler.  That meant he got all of his other Lego bricks and sets out.  Hours of entertainment!

The highlight is dumping Lego bricks into the box which he calls the "chopper".  :)

Bye snowman.

We went from near zero degree temps to almost 50 degrees yesterday.  Skyler's snowman that he and Mommy built on Sunday didn't do so well.

This is what he looked like yesterday morning after I dropped Skyler off at school.  Poor snowman and snow dog!

Do you want to build a snowman?

Skyler and Mommy did just that yesterday afternoon.

Finishing touches.

Ta da!

Doing his best recreation of "The snowman and the snow dog."

Giving them a hug.  :)

12 hour bug.

Skyler woke up with a stomach bug yesterday morning.  That meant he got to stay home from school.  By the time Mommy got home, he was at 90% of normal.  He seems fine this morning.

Lots of laying around in front of the TV yesterday.  :(

Fatty in the park.

Skyler wanted to ride his bike on the trails we packed in the park on Monday afternoon.  He did really well and quickly learned that he could tip over without injury.   He began tipping over on purpose after that.

Headed to the park.

Riding on the packed trail.

Out in the wide open.

Mommy had to help him a time or two.

Pedaling along!  Look at how low his tire pressures are!

ATV sledding.

Or the "AVTV" like Skyler says.  Monday, we got the ATV out, inflated the tube sled, and headed down to the neighborhood park to have some fun.  While there aren't any signs saying "no vehicles", I'm pretty sure we were breaking the rules even though the tires never touched the grass.

Look at Mommy's hair!!!

Don't let his facial expression fool you, he was having a great time!

Sadie dog even rode a few rounds.  :)
So did Maxwell!  He looks like an Ewok!
Skyler with Whitney.
Skyler got buried!

Butterfield Canyon vs. 2.0

We rode the Fat Bikes up the road at Butterfield canyon.  We only made it 3.1 miles in an hour of riding but we definitely got a good workout!  Someone mentioned that Fat Bike miles are like dog years, 1 mile equals 7 and that's probably closer to the truth!  We even had to pedal going back down the canyon there was so much resistance from the snow and 5" tires.

5" tire.

Gorgeous!

Storm was to roll in last night.  We got snowed on pretty good, it looks to be at least 4" out on the ground this morning.

Here comes Mommy!  It was plenty warm grinding up the canyon.

The pond from the mine drain is still liquid.  It even has water cress growing.

Storm clouds rolling over the Oquirrh Mountains.

We spotted this herd of elk on the way home.  They were eating some tasty wheat stubble.

Escaping the dirty air.

We headed out to Butterfield Canyon yesterday afternoon to get some sun and escape our toxic air in the valley.

A boy and his dog.
Mine drain tunnel runoff.

Look at that beautiful hair!

Enjoying some nature.

"What?"

Getting clearer.

Snow crystals.

Blue sky!

Looks like little panes of glass or feathers as Mommy said.

Teasel.

Clear!

Above the pollution.

A meadow of Teasel!

Smile.  :)

Westward ho!

Fatty tracks!  We're probably headed back up there today with ours.

Family portrait.

Headed back down.  Maizey had had enough!

Look how blue!

Dump truck dumping on the point.

Inversion up ahead.  :(
