Redneck canyon.

Or a hike in Butterfield Canyon.  :)  The 4 of us headed up Butterfield Canyon yesterday afternoon to enjoy the fall foliage and get a bit of exercise.  We ended up hiking a trail that we'd never been on before.  It was steep!
Starting out.  This shouldn't be too bad...

Looking East through the trees.

Almost there...

At the top!
Sun squeens!
Our happy little wanderer!
What?

An Indian Paintbrush!

More forested goodness.

Behind this mountain is the copper mine.  Redneck canyon was named because of all the damn diesel pickups driving up and down the road.
The valley below.

Just gorgeous!

The road on the Tooele side.

Leaves are already falling.  We were at 8,100 feet.

The road on the Salt Lake side.
It was like being in the Alps.

An example of the steepness.  Yes, we hiked that.

Our trailhead.

Trail number two.  This one was flat and easy.

Happy hikers.

Aspen goodness.

The end.
