Dinosaur National Monument day 1.

We made it to the Monument Thursday afternoon after stopping in town for a delicious lunch.  Quite the experience!

Peeking North towards the quarry.
Conservation efforts evident in the parking lot.
Skyler in front of the stegosaurus replica.
Built for the Sinclair Oil Corporation's 1964 Dinoland exhibit at the World's Fair.

Cool 1950's styled visitor center.
Southern view toward the Green River.
Touch panel.
Dinosaur bone!

When I was last here, the paleontologists were still excavating fossils from the rock.  30+ years later, they  are no longer exposing more fossils.

Feathers and wedge still in the rock.

Another wedge.

More feathers and wedges.

The building was renovated in 2011 due to settling.  Still has the 1950's feel.

Fossils you can touch!

Fossil wall.

Incredible!
East view from the parking lot.
More tomorrow!
