TRAINS!!!

Skyler's first day of Summer beak meant that we headed out to watch some more trains on the mainline.  This time, we were a little bit further East, 5600 West to be exact.  This is a nice location because it's right next to the intermodal yard that Union Pacific uses to stage shipping containers and stack trains.

Headlights!
Lots of power.
Brand new Tier 4 emissions unit on the rear.
Switching back into the intermodal yard.
They must have been building quite a train with this much power.
Green for a Westbound on track #2!
Stack train!

FRED device on the rear.
Eastbound!

Ballast train.  Think how heavy a train full of gravel is, each car is 201,000 pounds loaded!
Uh oh, a bit of a mishap on the tail end car.
Must have derailed at one point.  FRED device on the rear.  I can remember when the railroads had a caboose on the rear of the trains instead of the FRED.  :(
