Beach day!

Saturday, October 20th was spent on the beach!  We walked North towards the power plant in the morning and just enjoyed the sights and sounds the rest of the day.

Trying to tell Skyler that the ocean isn't forgiving became the days theme.
Look at his foot prints!
Looking North towards the power plant.
Southern view.  Karen and Skyler.
Kelp!
Closeup of the kelp.  Notice the "floats" that allows the kelp to stay buoyant.
Looks out towards the Channel Islands.
The waves were spectacular.
2 of the 3 adults required to watch a 7 year old next to the ocean.

Picking up a rock.  He was thrilled to throw anything into the water.

Beautiful.

Sea Lion.

The crashing of the waves against the beach nearly polished this chunk of concrete round!

The City of Oxnard marker.

Carrying some kelp.  He ended up wearing the kelp around his neck for a while.

The power plant!

Fishing boat.

There were mobile homes on the beach South of the power plant!

Natural sand dunes with grasses.

Rabbit tracks in the sand dunes!

I loved the grasses on the dunes.
