Yellowstone trip; day 1, part 1.

We made it back safe and sound last night albeit much later than I had wanted.  We got stuck at Old Faithful's geyser basin watching Castle Geyser in the morning and that delayed our arrival by about 3 hours.  Sigh...

Here are a few pics from Sunday, our first day on the road.

West Yellowstone was started as a railroad town.  Union Pacific Railroad erected this monument as a reminder.

The ominous clouds only added to the vast beauty of the park.

Fire remnants from 1988.  I remember being in the park right after the fires.  One can hardly tell there ever was a fire now, the Lodgepole Pines have re-grown nicely.
