At the train yard.

Thanks to a tip from Grandpa, the newly completed Parley's Trail section over the Union Pacific's Roper Yard is now accessible.  Skyler and I took advantage of the cool weather and spent several hours watching trains yesterday.  He had such a great time he asked to go back in the afternoon and again this morning.  :)

Headed out, still has that new bike path smell.

Train coming!

There it goes.

"Hmm, I hear a train."  Nice new bridge.

Train approaching!

Frontrunner!  It was flying!

Roper Yard.

Lots to see here.

Locomotives headed to the shop.

Wave to the TRAX train!

ZAP (Zoo, Arts, Park) tax is welcomed at our house.

The only complaint I have is the chaninlink fence is really tight and hard to take photos through.

EMD SD40M switching.

More waving!

Mixed freight being shunted around.

GREAT overhead views of the locomotives!  We could see the cooling fans and feel the exhaust we had such a great vantage point.

3rd rail safety rail on the TRAX line over the bridge.  Interestingly, the 3rd rail was 40 foot sections of used rail.  Surprising since UTA spares no expense on everything else.

SD40M has remote control capability installed.

Nearly 3 hours of fun on the bridge.  He was so pleased!
